Linus Omark Recalled To Edmonton

Looks like the Oilers have recalled their top prospect Linus Omark today, along with former 1st round pick Ryan O'Marra. Omark looks to be pretty skilled and is a YouTube sensation. He looks to have a terrific offensive skill set and could be a good complement to the already highly skilled and young Oilers squad. We shall see how he plays out tomorrow vs. the Lightning.

Yup, that's him. He also tried to get creative in an AHL shootout last weekend.

He also got pretty creative and showed off his pretty skilled offensive set in this shootout goal against Dan Ellis. Edmonton finally has some promise.

let me get this straight.. Marty St Louis crying a bit after the game, calling the move a bit disrespectful, then saying that might not be the right word.

but yet, St Louis likes to turn his back to the goalie a bit and attempt a backhand type shot. i guess thats not right either, right Marty?

Dan Ellis got beat by a fake slap shot/wrist shot to 5 hole. he should be mad about that!!

God forbid we try to have some fun. St. Louis is an crotchety old curmudgeon now? When did that happen?

The stupid shootout was made to entertain the fans, so what's the problem here? If a goalie really gets rattled an offended by that little spin move, he probably shouldn't be playing goalie in the NHL.

Only the NHL would be so up in arms over a simple shootout move. It's their own damn creation, so if they don't like seeing this then STFU and get rid of the shootout. Idiots. I swear the NHL is a big group of cavemen.

Everything is about "respecting/disrespecting the game", "the culture of the game", etc. It drives me nuts sometimes.

Because the whole Campbell situation was "respectful of the game." A lot of these guys live in their own world, I particularly don't give a flying F what they think or say about this move when we have a clearly corrupt man as head of discipline.

In fact, the NHL should be damn happy they have a guy as young as this who is willing to be flashy. Perhaps we have a little AO in the making? I'm always for the skill players showing off their skills. Some of the stuff these guys can do with their skates, sticks, and the puck is amazing and unlike anything you'll see from any other sport.

Just cavemen stuck in their ways. It's 2010 guys! Wake the hell up.

Exactly! First PK and now this. The NHL goes out of it's way to stay gray and suffocate any color out of it's game.

I loved it! Isn't sports supposed to be entertaining? Screw 'respect'! How is that not respectful. What should have the rookie done; attempt a straight shot or 'respectful' deke?
