Not too sure about the NBA 2K series to be honest. I mean they are excellent right now, but they didn't really make a splash until NBA 2K7, coincidentally that is when NBA Live started to plummet aswell.

For overall consistency I'd just go with the safe pick in FIFA. The series was great in 2003 and has continuously improved in all aspects from that point on, with FIFA 11 being one of the best sports games ever.

Madden was also good, but for overall consistency throughout an entire decade my pick is FIFA.
