Re: College Hoops 2k12?
I disagree, but we'll see. I think what happened with 2K9 is that the Collegiate Licensing Company upped the price of the license at the last moment, so 2K bowed out. But EA Sports failed to capitalize on the market while making the only NCAA basketball game. 2K can probably get the license for less, right?Comment

Re: College Hoops 2k12?
I think 2K gave up on 2K9 because the Collegiate Licensing Company upped the price of the license at the last minute so only EA would buy it, kinda like an exclusive license but not really. So there may be interest, but not enough at that price. If no one else is making a game, the price may be negotiable.Comment

Re: College Hoops 2k12?
I think after the success of NBA 2k11, 2k will return to the collegiate game. They have sold off part of the company and formed a new team. Some say this is to prepare for a new football game since they have approached the NFL and this was all done before we all got to play 2k11, but its still unknown to whether the new team is for a football game, basketball game, or any other game.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Casino, College Hoops 2k8 has some awesome updated rosters and can still provide a fun experience. I am still playing it and still loving it although I am hopeful of 2k12http://pcfriars1213.blogspot.com/ - Coaching Career of Ed Cooley College Hoops 2k8Comment

Re: College Hoops 2k12?
I doubt that we'll see another college basketball game. While there are some diehard fans and people like me that only like college sports (I haven't watched an NFL game in 10 years or an NBA game in probably 20-25 years) it should be pretty obvious that there aren't enough people out there buying the college basketball games. That's why EA and 2K stopped making them. We diehard fans can't expect companies (whose main goal is to make money) to make a game that they know won't sell.Favorite Teams:
College #1: Michigan Wolverines
College #2: Michigan State Spartans (my alma mater)
College #3: North Carolina Tar Heels
NHL: Detroit Redwings

Re: College Hoops 2k12?
There's been numerous threads about this already and it's been re-iterated that it's unlikely. EA pulled out because of low sales numbers and it shows that the market for a CBB game is not very good.

No, there just isn't enough interest. While the price of licensing may have been part of the problem, in the end it has to do with sales and making a profit, which has to do with consumer demand. It's a simple business concept. The demand just isn't there.Comment

Re: College Hoops 2k12?
I'm not buying the lack of interest nonsense. You're telling me the biggest sporting event (March Madness) is not marketable in the video game community. It is known EA pulled out because of low sales. That does not necessarily mean there is a lack of a market. That just means that EA made a piss poor product outside of the commentary and presentation. Every other aspect of the game was awful, including graphics. The demand is there, just not for a poor quality product. It's like many college programs deal with in attendance issues. If teams win attendance goes up and if they lose attendance drops. The demand doesn't change, the quality of the product just more directly influences the end result.http://pcfriars1213.blogspot.com/ - Coaching Career of Ed Cooley College Hoops 2k8Comment

No one bought EA's crap because it had a game-ruining glitch they refused to patch, and then they wondered why sales were low.Comment
