NBA 2k11 to CH2k8....what to do??
I've been playing 2k11 hard for the last few months and I've heard a lot of good things about College Hoops 2k8 and Im thinking about going to get it to pass the time, now with me being on 2k11 so much do you think 2k8 would be worth playing??Tweetin' like it aint no 2morrow:

I would say so.
It is a very involving College Basketball experience.
The graphics are a little outdated, obviously, but the game plays awesome.
The dribble moves are the weakest part of this game, but swinging the ball around to find the open 3 is a thing of beauty for this game.
Plus there is an updated roster.
And its only like $3.99 at Gamestop.
I say, get dat! -

The graphics and gameplay are nowhere near what 2K11 is.
But the depth of CHoops 2K8 has yet to be matched. If you're all about simulation, I don't see why you don't have this game already.Former OS Editor.

Re: NBA 2k11 to CH2k8....what to do??
yeah 2k8 is a solid game. has its flaws but so does every nba game. Reason why i always come back to it is because nba assoctiations take longer to get through and usually i lose interest quickly. Also i like the option of starting with a bad school and building up the team and your resume to go to a better school. Always gets me playing this over nba for that reason alone. I have 2k11 and its nice, but ive started 3 associations and get bored of it before i finish a year. i kno once the college season is over ill be back on that for a bit, but until then, itll be more 2k8 than 2k11 for meComment

Re: NBA 2k11 to CH2k8....what to do??
i'm glad i'm not the only person who prefers 2k8 to 2k11, to me, and granted i've only played around 10 games or so of 2k11 with my buddy, seems like i almost never have control of what my player is doing.... and this may just be how familiar i am with the controls, but in college hoops 2k8 i am to the point where it actually feels like i am playing myself, like i'll do the move i want to do the split second i think about it, its second nature to meComment

I actually like 2k8 better than nba2k11 as well, A lot things factor into this but the main reasons are, better control of players, creating my squad each year and I just like college hoops better. Plus me and two buddies are in our tenth season in our dynasty, which is a blast.Comment

It's personal preference. I love CH2K8. A superb game. But I have been playing 2K11 non-stop since release day and still going strong. I don't see myself playing CH2K8 till March (as I always have been doing with College Hoops).
This game is so deep it makes me dizzy.
As far as which I prefer...no doubt 2K11. Best Basketball game ever. But College Hoops 2K8 is a gem in it's own right. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: NBA 2k11 to CH2k8....what to do??
I really like both games, but I think 2k11 is more for the presentation, which I think may be the best presentation of any sports game yet. 2K8 always brings me back because I'm addicted to career legacies, plus the gameplay is simpler and i don't have to worry about goofy player movement. It's hard to play both games because of the "bumping" on 2K11.
I think if I stuck to JUST 2K11 I'd find it to be the greatest basketball game of all time... but it doesn't draw my interest as much as career legacy mode.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment
