Why is offline franchise team rating different from play now ratings?

I know I shouldn't play as the Seahawks, but it's more fun playing the underdog sometimes.

When I have friends around and we play a game, the Seahawks OVR is 75 (depending on the patch). Which is fair. But when I start up a new franchise, they're suddenly 82.

I've never bothered to ask, but does anybody know why the change?

That's because they actually are an 82, but when Donny rates the teams, they aren't rated off of any specific equation, he just slaps a sticker over it with the rating he feels that team is. In franchise, the team rating is equated from the ratings of the players on the team, which makes them an 82. He's pretty much just putting zebra stripes on a horse when he does the team ratings.
