Well this doesn't really solve your problem but it's relevant to this thread: I play franchise as the Buffalo Bills and always use their AFL uniforms. During the October games while my opponents had the pink garb the Bills bever did.

So if you're playing a game with a team or teams that used to be in the AFL you can probably tone it down that way (unless this is just a bug specific to the Bills).
