This is a vote to see if we should have a rule that deals with the accepting of penalties after an injury.

LOL laugh it off man.

I said this in the other thread but want to repeat myself. I tend to hit buttons out of habit and have hit the wrong button when choosing a penalty or whether to sub an injured guy back in or not. That said if the D accepts on accident, then they should be able to just get a quick 5 yard flag themselves. Guys make mistakes so it isnt always a cheap move.

No, simply because we shouldn't suffer more cause of an EA screw up. We get caught up in playcalls and personnel that I've seen guys go down to 15 seconds with a normal playclock. I've done so many times.

Now if EA did it right: play clock doesn't start to run until the injury cut scene has played out with or without the play call screen up, then it would be a different story.

is their a reason why if the time runs out on the play clock to decline the 5 yard delay of game penalty instead?

Basically, this started as a gentleman's kind of rule. Some of us decline the penalty, others don't. Those of us who do, decline the penalty because the play clock actually starts during the injury cutscene. It is a EA glitch that starts the playclock with the injury timeout. So instead of getting a full 25 seconds to pick a play, get to the line and make any adjustments, depending on the cutscene (the cart scene takes more time) you get less time to pick a play and make the necessary adjustments.

This can be a big deal if its late in a close game and its 3rd down. I'd like to have enough time to read the pre-play coverage look, make line adjustments and possibly hot route a back in to block or a wr to a better route if necessary.

Some contend you should already have a play in mind should be able to pickit, hurry to the line and make your adjustments with no problem. I am not a football guru, so it takes me a couple of seconds to read (guess) the coverage and figure out if a blitz is coming and from where so I can slide my line (usually in the wrong direction). Some of us have started declining the penalty just to be fair.

i mean i understand the play clock thing, why don't we just decline a delay of game penalty after the injury instead of denying a penalty that could determine the outcome?
