    *New Player* Historic College

    Hello all,

Just received my copy of this (quite quickly considering it had to brave the Atlantic and then the English snow) and am pretty pleased to have it in my hands.

Last night I had my first real play and really enjoyed it, used some sliders from here and a set of Rosters FunkyFresh I believe, although if im honest I have no real clue about NCAAB other than the 2 games or so that are shown on Cable at the weekend over here.

    Anyway onto my real question;

As with most people Legacy mode is what attracts them to the game and for me I cannot wait to dig in to this mode. However as with all modes of this type be it NFL, NBA, MLB etc I have a penchant for rebuilding historic teams, bringing back past glories that have been forgotten ie Toronto NHL, or the Reds in Baseball (bar this season).... just to name a few.

Now as im not au fait with all Colleges and their history, could someone recommend a team that needs a rebuild and a return to success of years gone by. Maybe its a team who used to dominate their Conference but now bottom feeds... or even a team that has had a good NCAA Tourney record but now rarely makes it or if they do, are 1st round exits or so.

I have wiki'ed some Colleges, but tbh there are so many (which is cool) that im sure asking people with this knowledge will be easier than me missing out a team as I just cant get the info.

All help appreciated, my Open Legacy relies on you

St. Johns would be good, because it's going to happen too.

UNLV, Houston, another good team to build up would be Northwestern. Northwestern has never made it to the NCAA tournament. Indiana is another team who used to be great but are kind of down right now. That is all I can think of right now off the top of my head. Good luck on picking a team.

          Some ideas:

          St. John's
          Seton Hall
          Cincinnati
          Indiana
          Iowa
          Michigan
          Maryland
          NC State
          Arkansas
          LSU
          Arizona
          Houston
          UNLV
          UMass

Being 'down' is somewhat of a relative term for a few of these programs.

If you're looking to rebuild a team to it's former dominating form UCLA (Pac 10) is a good pick. If you wanna take a team that's on the rise but not quite at that legendary status Ohio State (Big Ten) is a good pick as well. Some other teams I could recommend for you to consider using are....
              Georgetown-Big East
              Memphis-Conference USA
              Florida (Southeast)
              Duke (Atlantic Coast)
              North Carolina (Atlantic Coast)
              Michigan State (Big Ten)

Michigan, St. Johns, UNLV, Houston, UCLA. That would be my top 5 to rebuild to glory, in no specific order.
                North Carolina Tar Heels
                Virginia Tech Hokies
                Michigan Wolverines
                Chicago Bulls
                Detroit Tigers
                Detroit Red Wings
                Detroit Lions

I think if I were doing something like this, the schools Id use are:

Northwestern (only power conference school to never make the tourny)
St. Johns (Known for BBall, but havent been great in recent years, but are on the way up with their current players and recruits coming in next year)

Also a team like South Florida, Providence, Seton Hall, aka Big East team that isnt one of the big ones. Try to get one of them to be a powerhouse school in a powerhouse conference. South Florida has never been that, while the other 2 have had their years in the past

DePaul is the only choice IMO.

In the 80's they were a perennial top 10 team. You have the competetive Chicago area to recruit against the other half dozen schools in the area from Illinois to Chicago St.

And... you get to play in the Big East.

Thanks again for all the more suggestions, ive had a bit of a chance to look around and read loads more about NCAA Basketball, the Tournaments etc So am really looking forward to getting stuck in to the game more (Currently just been learning the ropes, playing practices and so on).

Looks like Northwestern is the team for me to go with, but there are plenty of options and close runners in the decision included Michigan (especially given the scandal in their past), DePaul for their 80s dominance (I love those 'era's) and a few others.

                      Hopefully get things running tonight!

If you want to go really far back, San Fransisco and La Salle would be good ones. Both were powers in the 1950s.

unlv, michiga, st johns, how about BYU with one of the nations best players, you can win now and build a power house, also Butler made the final four last year but they are having a down year, you could build them up.
Also Indiana has a good program but have not gone far in the ncaa tournament in a long time

I think Virginia would be a good team to rebuild. They used to be real good a while back but now aren't even making the NIT...they might this year though
