    Greenie's Legacy - A CH2k8 Legacy

I plan on posting the results of my legacy here. I am using the Texas State Bobcats. I am about 18 games in so, for the games that are already play I will just do a short recap and a box score. Once this thread is caught up to the legacy the post will be more in-depth.

Ya Bush is a key player on my team. Just a update I should post my preview tomorrow and some games before Christmas.

          Season Preview

Coach Greene or as his players call him Coach Greenie, is the new head coach of the Texas State Bobcats. The Texas State Bobcats are coming off a 9-20 season with a 4-12 record in Southland Conference. "We hope to improve on last year's record" said Coach Greenie "We have a strong group back, and a few freshmen who can make an impact."

The key for this year's team will be the play of Brandon Bush. Brandon Bush is a 6-7 junior guard and was the leading scorer on last year's 9-20 squad averaging 14.4 points a game. "Brandon can be a huge part of this team's success this year." said coach Greenie. "I just hope that I can be a big part of this team's turnaround." said Brandon Bush.

Other key players for this year's team are senior guard Brent Holder, junior forward Dylan Mosley and two freshmen Ryan White and Cameron Johnson. "Brent and Dylan will be used in many roles on this team." said Coach Greenie "They are both good shooters and can be used off the bench or as a starter effectively." On the two freshmen Coach Greenie said "Their games are very different. Ryan can be used as a combo guard and is a great shooter. Cameron is a smart player and is good at driving to the hoop."

Coach Greenie hopes that this team can become a contender in the Southland Conference, and is expecting it. "We should be better than last year," said Coach Greenie.

I have decided instead of doing box scores for the 15 games that are already played I am just going to do 3 month recaps. So I can get caught up quicker and get back to playing.

Texas State rebounded from their first conference loss of the year at Stephen F. Austin, to win at home 57-47 versus Sam Houston State. "It wasn't our best game, but we showed that we can grind it out with a great team," said Coach Greenie. One of the keys of the game was Sam Houston State inability to shoot from three point land. The Bearkats were 0 of 12 from behind the arc. The three point shot has been a key for Texas State all year, and today a 6 of 16 effort gave the Bobcats an 18 point advantage in a 10 point game. "We work on shooting the ball a lot, and we have a lot of great shooters," said Coach Greenie. Senior Brent Holder had a great game for Texas State today. Brent didn't make a 2 point field goal, but was 3 of 3 from behind the arc and 6 of 6 from the line. "I was just glad to help my team win," said Brent Holder after the game. Texas State has a week off before their next game at Texas-Arlington on the 9th.

With only a few weeks left in the season, it is a good time to look at the Bobcats targets. With no one signed yet this year Texas State has five scholarships left to give out. Here are the five players that Coach Greenie hopes to fill the open scholarships.

Rafael Demon - Has only one scholarship offer from Texas State, and is targeted by Tulane and Grambling.

Levi Willingham - Has only one scholarship offer from Texas State, and is targeted by UT-Arlington and Texas Southern.

Jon-Erik Bowden - Has only one scholarship offer from Texas State, and is targeted by Stephen F. Austin and Grambling.

D'Jamal Ryan- Has only one scholarship offer from Texas State, and is targeted by UL Monroe.

Niemer Rowe - Has only one scholarship offer from Texas State, and is not targeted by another school.
