Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
I just started a Wise Chise(dynasty rosters V 2) Im trying to trade Gilbert, I want to be fair as possible so Im gonna find teams that need a scoring SG, post the most fair deals I can find and get your opionions of them
1. Wiz Trade:
Gilbert 4 years 80 mil 81 overall SG
Josh Howard 73 SF 1 year 3 mil SF
Jazz Trade:
A. Kirilenko SF 75 17.75 mil for 1 year
CJ Miles 66 SG 1 year 3.70 mil
maybe a 2nd
They get a big scorer at the SG to put next to Dwill, they lose AK 47 but get a capable sf starter in howard, then would have gilbert and bell at SG so Miles could go. I get a solid sf on a 1 year deal, cap space eos, and I get a young sg to use, then maybe a 2nd round pick. I don't think it's too bad.
2. Wiz trade:
Gilbert 4 years 80 mil 81 overall SG
A. Gee 1 year 473k 61 overall SF (roster spot evener)
H. armstrong 1 year 853k 61 overall C
Pacers Trade;
Mike Dunleavy 71 overall SG 1 year 10.56 mil
Paul George 65 overall sf 2 years 4.64 mil(D+ pot on this roster so its not like hes studly)
Jeff Foster 66 overall C 1 year 6.66 mil
They get a big time scoring SG to go with the Granger/Collison/Hibbert core. They can trade Mike since they would have Gilbert and Rush. They get a younger cheaper pretty much as good backup c. Gee is there to even up the roster spots. I get a SG and a backup center with expiring deals and a young SF stuck behind Granger and comp. Not as sure if this is fair.
Any thoughts? Raps had the contracts to matchup, but I don't think they want Gilbert at this time while rebuilding and the Knicks and Nets have the things also, but do I ruin there runs at Melo. Bulls were a fit, but didnt have the contracts to even it out, could bring a 3rd team into it to spar this perhaps. Any thoughts here, or anything Im missingComment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Here is the only problem I see:
Gilbert's contract is so bad, it almost sinks a franchise single-handedly.
The Jazz deal isn't terrible. But imagining that Gilbert and Jerry could co-exist is hard to do.
What about dealing him to the Cavs for Antawn and Parker/Gibson?
That one kind of makes sense. Or to LAC for Baron & someone?
Or maybe throw in a 1?
You should probably try to bail out the team you are doing the deal with on some level-- take on really bad contracts, give them a couple 1's or a 1 and a 2, etc.
I would start by looking around the league for really bad contracts (high $, terrible players) that don't expire for 2-3 years.
Gilbert is toxic. A good player, but toxic.Last edited by greenieblue; 12-24-2010, 01:45 PM.Originally posted by Fabian Avenarius Lloyd[...] a man of subtlety or refinement is almost always nothing but an idiot.Comment

Needed a starting SF that could hit a open 3 when Jennings or DeRozan penetrate because Maggette can't shoot 3s so I struck a deal with the Suns.
Bucks (Me) Get:
Josh Childress
Mickael Pietris
Suns Get:
Corey Maggette
Ersan Ilyasova
My Roster
PG- Jennings averaging 27 PPG, Keyon Dooling, Boykins
SG-Demar Derozan, Michael Redd, Mickael Pietris
SF-Josh Childress, Mickael Pietris, Carlos Delfino
PF-Bargnani, Drew Gooden, Hassan Whiteside
C-Marcus Camby, Gooden, Hassan WhitesideMilwaukee Bucks Dynasty:

For the OP, if you're affected by this, just do the Pacers one.Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Well, you have him for the next four years at 20 mil, meaning he will be the highest paid player on your team for four years. The salary cap is 58 mil. He is 28 and declining. And a team can't win with him as the highest paid player.
That's pretty toxic.Originally posted by Fabian Avenarius Lloyd[...] a man of subtlety or refinement is almost always nothing but an idiot.Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Maybe you're right. I just know...
Spoiler Alert
with the living rosters, Paul George turns out to be a nice little player.
Look, I'm only one opinion (GM). I just wouldn't acquire GA unless he got me salary cap relief a year early. I don't think he is a bad player, but his skills/age/contract are a bad combination.Last edited by greenieblue; 12-24-2010, 02:39 PM.Originally posted by Fabian Avenarius Lloyd[...] a man of subtlety or refinement is almost always nothing but an idiot.Comment

Yeah, I get it tomorrow, too. Gonna play w/ Orlando and just try to get a backup C (thinking about delving into the D-League or trying to package Duhon & Q for a decent big).Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
I'm the Bucks and traded Michael Redd to the Hornets for Peja Stojakovic. Both have one year left on contracts, with Redd making $3M more than Peja - basically a change of scenery type of deal. I've had Redd un-active all season because my team plays well without him. He was clearly showing frustration with no playing time, so I found a team that needed a SG. Hornets have a solid starting five now. Probably won't give Peja critical minutes, but his outside shot will be nice to have come playoff time.Chicago Cubs - Chicago Bears - Milwaukee Bucks
