Look, I know that the deep seam area can be exploited, but I don't think those statistics warrant the kind of response you gave. In the NFL, I'd guess that some sort of all-vertical variation is ran about 5 times per game per team. That's close to 8% of the time. It's a good play, providing a good horizontal stretch against deep zone defenders and it provides match-up problems against underneath man defenders.
