OS NASCAR 11 League(interest-PS3-360)

Well,

We are about 6 weeks away from the games release, and I wanted to guage interest in a league. I will start to put together something formal once the game is released, but now, wanted to guage interest more than anything.

What I need is for anyone interested to list the following

1. Which system
2. Username on said system
3. Choice of car, and backup car(not sure how we will decide this yet, probably lottery)
4. What nights work best for you(probably 2 races a week)
5. If you have 2 other guys for teamates, who they are


What I would really like to do is have 3 man teams. So we would have individual points and team points. The winner of the points championship(individual) will recieve a free game of their choice.

This will be a full, but simple league. The races will be short enough to have fun, but to also involve strategy. We will have a championship at the end, so participation is pretty important.

If you have any comments or thoughts, this is the time to throw them out there. I will have early access to the game by about a week, so we can get things cemented pretty early on.

My participation is probably also dependent on the rules since I don't know how to drive and race without assists and know nothing about setting up cars.

I have been doing a lot of looking since, there really hasn't been a lot of info out on this game lately. I believe from an interview I listened to that we may be able to carry our created car and paint scheme online also. That would give us other options as far as cars too. I think online is going to be the main draw with this first game. After reading and listening to all the interviews, the career mode is just going to have a team you can create and really the only customization is going to be the paint scheme. I know most of us was hoping for a career mode similar to Thunder 04, but maybe next year.

Sorry about the confusion on this question.

The people who are putting this OS league together kicked around the idea of having teamates in the league.

for instance:

We would be one team......we each earn individual points, but we also earn team points for team standings. I am not sure if we are going to do this, but if we do, I just wanted to know if the league members had preferences of who they would like to be teamates with(max 3 to a team)

Its just adds a different dynamic to the league.

Is the PS3 network stable enough to race Nascar online? Just asking as I am open to either system.

Thoughts:

Not really interested in two teammates as I don't want to deal with too many who only want to block or get into others if they not doing well. I would rather just play straight up individually but that is just me. Would even be open to only one teammate so I have someone to work on car setups with and talk about game strategy.

What do you think about following the actual race season of one race per week? When Nascar is off, we are off. Same for qualifying so everyone has that week to work on their setups.

Put me down for longer races instead of fast over and done. Would like to see realistic pit strategies and no assists to rely on skill and car setups more.

Thats why I started this thread 6 weeks before release, so we can get this type of feedback and have a majority rules. Nothing is set in stone right now, and we will roll with what the majority wants. We will also see once the game game comes out, the options that are available.

I will not try to be complicated so you can add Jamie Mack to my backup car instead of two Tony's.

I can race any day of the week but prefer weekends like the real schedule. Has anyone done online racing on the PS3 as I do not have any driving games for that system? Just curious if it is stable with multiple cars and things going on. I would like to go the PS3 route and get a wheel but depends on the network and what the majority here go with.

It really depends on the game and the server(s) Eutechnyx decides to use. I have raced on the PS3 with no issues, but thats no promise that this game will do the same. When I get my review copy, I will try it out and see how it works on the PS3. I should have it roughly a week before release and be able to post back here on the stabilty of it.

Dont worry too much about the drivers right now. I just wanted to guage who people wanted to use. For those people who want to use the same driver.........we will work out like a lottery system. If they allow custom cars online, then this will not be an issue at all anyways.
