Organized Team of People for Future Roster Updates

I would like to organize a team of individuals who are willing to contribute for current roster updates and to get ready for the 2011-2012 update. The key here is this has to be organized. We need a base roster to start with and then update it either on 2K Share and/or a file sharing site. There are some decent "base" rosters out there that people have prepared (e.g., FunkyFresh) but they still need work, especially player appearances and rotations. I know I took FunkyFresh's and updated certain teams and some other people did the same. jmbroster updated FunkyFresh's roster and just uploaded it to 2Kshare so that might be a good starting point unless someone has a better suggestion. The more we do this year, the less we have to do next year. If you're interested in helping out, please post in this thread and which schools / conferences you want. We should probably require that each person take AT LEAST 4 schools. One of the keys here is that once it's your turn to do an update, you need to turn it around quickly so we can keep this project moving so we're only updating 1 roster. We have to acknowledge that ratings won't be perfect but we should be able to get the basic info, appearances and rotations pretty much correct. Let me know your thoughts. I would be willing to take the following schools:

    William & Mary
    Ohio State
    Northwestern
    Harvard

Re: Organized Team of People for Future Roster Updates

I would help out but I am doing my own "rosters" for 2011-12. However, I am not doing a traditional roster update. Instead, I am starting a two-player dynasty with Kentucky and Memphis (for obvious reasons) and then begin editing rosters in Year 5 of my dynasty file.

Here's the project in a nutshell: I make sure the correct teams make the Final Four each year, i.e., UNC/UCLA/Kansas/Memphis in 07-08, and then make sure the correct team wins the national championship each year. In the dynasty, Gillispie leaves UK in Year 2 and takes a job at UT-San Antonio and then Calipari takes over UK. I then sim to 2011-12 and begin editing the rosters there. I figured users could sim one season and then have either coach take a job at their favorite school.

I know, it sounds kind of quirky, but it has renewed my interest in this game. I also really enjoy editing the rosters, and I figured I will have entire summer to edit all 300+ teams......Not sure how attractive this file will be to "non-UK" fans, but for some reason it bugs me to download current roster files and start with the 07-08 season.

Count me in bigdoc22. I say we get started on this soon. I will start off with 4 teams but will obviously do more.

                  Michigan
                  Gonzaga
                  Maryland
                  Wichita State
Saturday Night Lights NCAA 14 Sim OD for PS3

Just a word of advice, rosters shouldn't be expected to be released any earlier than Feb/March. That way you can have enough games to fairly rate each player.

Dude this sounds amazing, is it possible to upload franchise files for others to download? That might be a dumb question, but I don't really know much about file sharing. Would be really cool though

Not really sure - at worst, I could copy the file on a USB and then e-mail you. This will probably take me a few months to complete....baby steps, baby steps.....
