Players coming back in 12
I mean who else is excited about Andrew Luck's decision to stay from a Ncaa football 12 standpoint? I sure am. LaMichael James is coming back to go along with a highly rated Darron Thomas. Ryan Broyles and Travis Lewis are staying to go along with Landry Jones. Kellen Moore will also be back. Both Rodgers brothers will be back. The three headed runningback situation at wisconsin will too be sick. Also the 5 Ohio State players will be back (supposedly) to go along with many many more. Ncaa Football 12 is going to be stacked i think next year. Who are the players who were ranked highly this year who will still be back next year that you are excited about playing with? Who are the players you hope will come back and who are the players you think were underrated this year but should be beast in the game next year?Last edited by pirates946; 01-07-2011, 08:59 PM.6+5=7

Despite Clay declaring, Montee Ball and James White should still be a ton of fun next year in NCAA 12.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Players coming back in 12
I truly think Newton needs hold out another year and make his way into the NFL draft. Not fame his way into after one season .I would like to see him become a better passing QB then a third option run QB .Hes gonna be such a bust in the NFL .I know hes got tone of potential but I don't see it after one season in the SEC .He still needs PROVE more .Comment

Re: Players coming back in 12
Actually this is Newton 2nd season in the SEC. His freshmen year he played for Florida behind Tebow and only got in for mop up duty. Then he transfered to a JUCO where he would he solid playing time. Once there he got even more exposure and Auburn recruited him.
There is nothing left for him to prove. He shattered his state records in high school, shattered the SEC record and won the Heisman. Might as well go pro.Comment

Re: Players coming back in 12
cam's not a top 15 pick, probably not a round 1 pick unless you have a repeat of tebow's draft with someone jumping up and shocking everyone.
he's at best the 4th qb behind gabbert, locker and mallet and in my personal belief he's 6th behind kaepernick and tyrod taylor as well. and this is before we get to the all-star games and the combine, someone else will shoot up draft boards.
With luck not declaring 4+ QBs won't go in the top 15.
carolina will go different position(bowers if he's declaring)
cincy loves carson palmer(because they're stupid)
So that leaves cards at 5, niners at 7, titans at 8, skins at 10, vikes at 12
as potential qb slots, cards and niners are locks to draft a qb but there's "value" in the 2nd+ rounds (ricki stanzi, mcelroy, hartline from UK, etc) so the skins and vikes would be better served with other positions(offense line for both of them is a major need, skins need a corner, vikes could use a big possession-type receiver)
And some teams with "serviceable" qbs like the titans and vikes might decide to hold off a year for what is going to be a MUCH better class in 2012(headlined by luck, moore, and pryor)
now, I'm not saying cam isn't a magnificent player, I wouldn't have given him the heisman(Luck) but he'd easily be one of the top 10 athletes in this years draft. but he's not, at this time, sam bradford. he's not gonna come in and take a team to the playoffs or probably even have a winning record.Rule one: never act incautiously when confronting a little bald wrinkly smiling old man. ~ Terry Pratchett~Thief of Time.Comment

Re: Players coming back in 12
Newton isn't a first round pick, but Pryor is one of the headliners of the 2012 class? What? Pryor has less NFL potential than Newton imo.
Luck and Barkley will be the big targets next year.Comment

Re: Players coming back in 12
Pryor isn't going to headline the 2012 draft class. He just had foot surgery and will be suspended for the 1st 5 games of the season. Even then when the suspension is over, there is no gurantee he will EVEN PLAY the remaining games in the season, let alone start.
Because if who ever Ohio St starting QB be next year does well, they not going to bench him just because Pryor comes off suspension.
NFL draft is all about what have you done LATELY, not what you done the year before. Pryor stock is going to drop and it is going to drop hard. I wouldn't be surprised if he drops to the 3rd round.Comment

Re: Players coming back in 12
Okay okay-- I think we can all agree that Pryor is NOT an NFL Quarterback. He probably knows that (yeah right, ego?!) which is why he's finishing up his degree. Mobile QB's historically struggle once they get to the NFL because they can't pass as well as they can RUN (typically), and when they try to run they get destroyed. Vince Young?? Troy Smith?? Seneca Wallace?? Michael Robinson?? Eric Crouch?? Pat White?? They are all BOTH GREAT college running QBs, Terrible NFL QB's. Even though Cam is a stud in college-- they're going to try and put him as a WR or a Wildcat QB because I really don't think he throws well enough (see Donovan McNabb in his prime) to be effective. H*ll...look how long it's taken Michael Vick to be able to throw decently enough to be respected as a starter?? That was always his knock in ATL-- he can run his a$$ off but can't hit the broadside of a barn?!
Anyway we're way off topic at this point-- I'm excited to see how good they make the Wisconsin RBs (and they will be NASTYYYY in real life), and also they'll make Pryor and Boom Herron pretty nasty too.
Also-- Gotmadskillz?? They will DEFINITELY bench whoever is starting for OSU as soon as Pryor becomes eligible. Whether or not it's the right decision-- I don't know. But I think THEY think he's the MAN...they can't have him on the bench and have the best chance of winning week to week.Comment

Re: Players coming back in 12
If you think Newton is behind Kaepernick and Tyrod Taylor, you're crazy.
Everybody likes to think of Netwton as a run-first QB and that he can't throw, but people that really pay attention know better. He has none of the mechanics problems that Tebow had (his footwork is the biggest thing that needs work), and he's faster and taller. He holds the NCAA record for passer rating in a season. He completed over 65% of his passes. He had 28 TDs and only 6 INTs.
Now, granted, there are always going to be questions about his ability coming from a spread option. And, there's no doubt in my mind that guys like Luck (obviously), Mallet, and even Gabbert are better prospects at this time. One big question is his ability to go through progressions. But I don't see how there's any question that he's proven more than Kaepernick or Taylor. And Locker is too much of a wild card after the ridiculously poor season that he had.
The bottom line is that, with Luck out of this year's draft and Locker's poor performance this season, the QB class this year is not as great as it should have been. Even Mallet has plenty of concerns, given his melt downs at the end of big games, which he did again in the Sugar Bowl (though, to be fair, I thought Arkansas was running horrible plays against the blitz all night). Newton is just too great an athlete, with his size, speed, and good overall mechanics, to not take in the first round or maybe early second round this season. To say nothing of the fact that so many teams will be looking for QBs.Comment

Re: Players coming back in 12
When you're as good an athlete as Cam Newton is-- everything moves at a slower pace in College. It's like a man playing amongst boys (sometimes...or so it seems). And I understand that he was 28 TD for 6 INT or whatever the stat is-- but that doesn't always translate to the NFL. You're playing with other MEN...not boys and the pace is night and day difference, and if he gets in trouble he won't have as easy of a time taking off to run. That's all I'm saying. I agree he's a great athlete, but I just doubt he will be leading any NFL team to the playoffs if an NFL team who's desperate at QB decides to go with him as their starter. ((see Jemarcus Russell for 'Da Raidas who had 28 TDs and 8 INT his last year at LSU))Comment
