Same thing happened to me last night with Crabtree and the 49ers.

I had no idea why he wasnt playing. I was simming and noticed it.

It really sucks that there is no visual way of knowing. In years past the big read sign that read "HOLD OUT" would read by the players face. This year, NONE.

But one thing is that in the old Madden games players would only hold out of they had a great season and they wanted more money, never because they werent playing on their team was doing bad. If they werent playing or their team was doing back, their morale would go down, causing their ratings to go down, but thats it.

i sim alot so the only way i am able to notice a player holding out is checking the roster breakdown screen before the start of the season. anyone "inactive" is a holdout. the only fix is cutting him and then resigning him which is easier said than done. i have noticed that after cutting him, he wants a boatload of cash more than the initial asking price. what i do is change his position where his OVR drops and sign him to my original contract length. then by switching him back to his original position, he appears on the field. then, when that contract expires, the whiney baby gets his big fat payday. =)
