    Relief for Lathen Scott

"What a feeling!" exclaimed Lathen Scott after the game, "We did it. My players executed the gameplan almost perfect. I won't say we did great but we did good enough to get the job done." UC Davis started the year off with three tough losses to three strong opponents. "UTC was obviously not as good as Texas and the other teams we played but they are still good. They have a good point guard in Keegan Bell even though the kid is a fa* for leaving Vanderbilt. But that's a different topic for a different day." UC Davis made a change in their starting lineup that proved to be more than effective. An excited coach Scott had this to say about the lineup change, "I think the best three decisions of my life were to take this job at UC Davis, breakup with that gold digger I called a girlfriend for 2 years, and put Mark Payne even though he is 6'8 at point guard. He is our best playmaker and it freed up Todd [Lowenthal] to score more. Mark played outstanding at the point." UC Davis would take the lead early and never give it up winning 58-47. This is Lathen Scott's first colliegate win.

          West Coast Battle

The 1-3 UC Davis Aggies squared off against USC (2-2) today in the 5th place game of the Orange County Shootout. "It was a hard fought battle that went to the very end." said coach Scott of UC Davis. "But when it came down to it, we just couldn't stop Vucevic." Despite outrebounding the Trojans 41-26, USC pulled out the win 66-60.

                  Just a little info

Sorry guys about the November Recap posts, the thread was messing with me for whatever reason. Just thought I'd throw this out there, I've done some research on here to make the legacy more interesting and I came across this thread (http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ss-arcane.html) which talks about different aspects of CHoops that isn't in the manual and stuff like that. And someone made CPU playbooks so the CPU would be more unpredictable and it would be more realistic. Well I downloaded the playbooks off of 2kshare and tried them out and they were great! I felt like I was actually playing against a real person. All credit goes to spit_bubble for making the playbooks and Catch28 for putting them up on 2kshare for the 360. Another thing is I am messing with the sliders as I go and when I find the perfect fit to make this as realistic as I can I'll post them on here and on the College Hoops Sliders forum. I'll have a couple games and the in-season recruiting on here within the next few hours.

                    Overtime thriller in Maples Pavilion

"I can't believe that just happened." spoke an exhausted coach Scott, "There was never a time in the game where you that, 'Man that's gonna be a blowout'. The game was close from start to finish!" Stanford held the largest lead of 14 in the first half but UC Davis closed the gap within a few minutes. Stanford had the lead at halftime, 39-29. The second half was even more action-packed than the first. UC Davis battled back and got their first lead of the whole game with just 4 minutes left in the game. At that point it was just a back and forth battle until the end, literally. With just 20 seconds left UC Davis had a 71-68 lead when freshman, Aaron Bright, hit a contested 3 to tie it up. UC Davis went down and with time running out Mike Kurtz missed a tough, left-handed hook shot. Overtime was nothing short of a dog fight until the end. UC Davis had a couple quick turnovers that resulted in them going down 75-71. Than Eddie Miller hit a 3 to put it within one. Than with just 3.5 seconds left, UC Davis was up 79-77 when Jeremy Green got fouled on a jumper with his foot on the line. Green calmly went up to the line and sunk both free throws. Than UC Davis pushed it up the floor and called timeout with 1.5 seconds at halfcourt. Now we will hand it over to the interenet radio broadcast on the UC Davis website for the final play, "Payne will inbound the ball. Scott is holding back Kurtz for some reason and the ref is now giving the ball to Payne! Kurtz is now coming into the inbound play and gets the pass and shoots an NBA 3 and HITS IT!! HE MADE THE SHOT!! THE FRESHMAN MIKE KURTZ HIT THE GAME WINNING THREE!! UC DAVIS UPSETS STANFORD 82-79!!!"

UC Davis improves to 2-4 and will face off against another West Coast foe, Gonzaga who is 4-4.

NOTES: I used 500bloc's sliders with a couple of tweaks and I like them a lot.
I played 20 minute halves instead of 15.
Beating Stanford isn't as big of a deal as it might seem, they were an overall 77.

With UC Davis there are some bad news. #1 recruit Randolph Thomson signed with conference opponent Cal Poly. UC Davis has offered the scholarship to Pat Krogh instead. The only other team interested in Krogh is San Francisco but the Dons have already signed two players and probably do not have another scholarship to offer. UC Davis has also taken away their scholarship offer from JU SO recruit Laurynas McClurkin and has offered that scholarship to Akin Leonard. Leonard, like Krogh, has another team interested in him that should not have any more scholarships. This team is Santa Clara. Santa Clara is interested in about 3 different players in the California area and has not offered any of them scholarships.

UC Davis recruits with scholarship offers:

Pat Krogh: PG 6'2 178 lbs. 3* (Interested teams: SF (no offer), UCD)
Akin Leonard: C 6'11 240 lbs. 3* (Interested teams: SCU (no offer), UCD)
Don Montague: JC SO SG 6'0 171 lbs. 3* (UCD only interested team)
Gerard Page: JC FR C 6'10 213 lbs. 3* (Interested teams: UCD, SJSU (no offer))
Errick Archibald: JC SO SF 6'5 204 lbs. 3* (UCD only interested team)

I hope to make this legacy more fun for you guys to follow than the last one as well.

The house rules are the same as the last time with one difference: NO WORLD RECRUITS. This is the first time that I am doing this so this will be fun for sure. This is also the first time I will be coaching out in the west.
Next year will be the year to use Radford or at least I will when they update the rosters for next year. I'm in high school and I go to school with my friend who's going to Radford next year and I'll be sure to make him into a star at Radford. Just thought I'd put that out there
