    Cheese complaints online are ridiculous.

I played a guy who obviously didn't understand post d. (or d in general for that matter) Anyway. He kept complaining about me posting up with Howard and quickly getting Garnett in foul trouble because he kept leaping. So I kept going to the post and slightly delaying my moves and shots till he started leaping so it was a wide open look down low, or he fouled me. I was told by him that post moves are too effective and cheesy. SMH at these clowns.

When I play with friends in person(dont like playin online) we always joke to each other when one uses the so called cheese with lines like... cheese me please! cheese louise! or cheesy mccheesums! lol
Its all apart of 2k and the way we see it is you still have to play good basketball no matter what to win.
Everyone has a different definition of what constitutes "cheese"
Lead pass, hop step, pump fakes, post game etc...
Bottomline, all those things are very effective in the game but all of them can be stopped with good team defense.

I agree with this.. I hate being cheesed with something that is defined as an actual Glitch, but complain because of my lack of skill = Fail.. I'm glad you took him in the post.. if you were Howard STan VAn would be telling you to get KG in Foul trouble .

Had a game last night. On the first play I ran a simple give-&-go and got an open floater with D Rose. The guy immediately says "Oh you're one of those lead pass fags".

The entire game was then him flipping out at every single pass I made to a cutter. "Same cheesey lead passing sh*t, you gonna do something else??".

Last time I checked, leading a pass to a player cutting toward the basket is the foundation of basketball, lol. I'm setting up plays and playing as sim as I know how to. And this was coming from a guy that ran Quick Isolation every single possession trying to Iso me to the hoop. Have these guys not gotten over themselves with the 'lead pass' feature when they tweaked it back in 2K9???? Are there actual players who refuse to make a lead pass in an entire game for the sake of some ridiculous oath to "being sim"? The developers clearly have put it there and want it to be used.

          I don't get some people.

I understand where he comes from because the lead pass to the cutter (From 5 or 6 feet in on the pass) is pretty unstoppable and cheesy because there is really no way to stop it , the defense can not react quick enough even if you or the cpu is defending, the pass is always perfect and the guy never drops it, The one way to slow it down is to slow gamespeed to 48, it seems to tie into defensive reaction time from what Ive seen, I have been able to slow cheesers down but people complain the game is to slow when in actuality its a more realistic speed.

There's a difference between stopping the pass and stopping the shot. With a variety of defensive strategies you can contest a majority of the shots. Just because some PG's with a high pass rating can thread the needle at will doesn't mean the receiving player gets an automatic easy finish.

I've had guys run straight to the baseline on a quick iso, call for a quick PnR and then run a give and go when the screener is on his way over. They'd do this multiple times in the shot clock and on every possession. I call that cheesing with the lead pass.

But simply running a balanced offense and using lead passes on your passes is far from an automatic label of cheese in my book.

to me its about stopping the pass because if you run it 10 times in a row and u know its coming but the defense just cant do anything about it it is cheese. That's all i'm saying.

The one thing that I really can't stand was this one guy that used the Heat. He gave the ball to LeBron and would go into the protect ball animation (holding both triggers) but somehow he could just do it from the 3 point line all the way to about 5 feet away from the hoop without getting caught in the back down animation and then he would do some weird hop step and pump fake 5-10 times and then go up with it and it was either an easy layup or a foul at least 90% of the time.

I can beat most cheesers, but I still have no idea how to stop that guy, and apparently neither does anyone else because last I saw on the leaderboards, he was somewhere around 42-0 the past month.

Yeah I totally agree. I had a guy tell me I was using exploits because I start G.Arenas instead of Jameer. Why wouldnt I start a guy whose a 83 over a guy thats a 75. He was just mad I was killing him all game with him because I didnt hear any complaining about q.rich who I start at the 3. Also if you cant stop the lead pass in this game just step your d up. I havent played a guy who I thought I couldnt beat do to them being too good at their cheesy tactics. Played almost 300 games and im 260-30 so I think ive pretty much seen it all by now.

I understand what you're saying. But look in real life, Stockton and Malone ran a pick and roll virtually every play, every game for 19 years. Jordan being fed into the post and Pippen cutting backdoor for a lead pass happened dozens of times a game.

Sometimes you know the play is coming, you know the guard is going to get the pass off almost every time, it's just a matter of doing your best to get them to take a contested shot. This does happen in real life.

This thread derailed a little, I am not saying cheese doesn't exist, but, a lot of people are quick to cry cheese if they simply cant defend something without making adjustments to the way tgey normally defend.

The problem is that there is no penalty to the cutter... he basically gets a pinpoint pass for a dunk or easy lay.

There needs to be more contact when leading someone into the paint. Only time I see contact cause a t/o is during alleys when the player gets bumped... that needs to happen with some lead passing when there is a boat load of guys crowding the paint.

Well I always icon switch to my 4 or 5 and user create the bump you're talking about in the lane. But I'm certain there are players out there that will instantly call that 'cheese' because I'm not playing on-ball D 100% of the time...even though I'm recreating defense that is more sim.

Spot on! There are two problems w/ lead passing in the game. 1) It's impossible to pressure the passer to make the pass more difficult. 2) The invisible force field the cutter has renders the help D on the rotation useless.
