The dynamic rosters sound great, I really enjoyed the mlb today feature but I wonder:

If you fall behind in your franchise, say you are in April and the actual season has progressed to july, will your stats and attributes match the April or July real season? I guess we'll just have to wait. But I hope in this case it would match video game to actual game if you catch my meaning.

I like the features list and I will be crossing my fingers that the stats are
accurate as possible. Also the improved fielding is also great to hear, I
hope the framerate is not affected where it's choppy. But I doubt that
will happen, I am sure it will be fine. Also. I am proud to say I preordered
the game today. I will be looking out for some more news as the game
      gets closer to release.

Dynamic player ratings sounds so cool to me. I want this in all sports games I play. If we could get a option to update rosters via download throughout the season without a restart to my franchise I would be in sports video game heaven. I thought this would have happened years ago. When I first read about living rosters two years ago I thought that was what it meant.

I really like the dynamic player ratings. I sure hope they really did work on the fielding it was just to auto for my taste last year, also errors and injuries if this is all in this year this game could be very good

And what if it is a "band aid?" It's still an improvement. It's still an interesting and cool feature.

There are some people that are trying really hard to pee on this game for no good reason. There is nothing even to be concerned about. You are having to really speculate in order to view this issue in a negative light.

You said you were no longer going to post here. What gives?

              b) progression/regression isn't working properly

Well, now you have, at least seemingly, both of those issues resolved.
Im totally diferent. I dont want my franchise to be mirrors of real life. My franchise is to be all its own. I really dont want someone in my franchise to get a + or - progression due to real life counterpart.
Then again i never understood why people want their fantasy franchise to play exactly like real life. Might as well just do a fantasy league. IMO of course. Hopefully its an option that can be turned off. If not there will zero chance of a purchase. Glad its there for those that want it but hope its an option.

                Re: MLB 2k11 Features List

Player Models do look better including numbers on jeseys that were laughable last year.
                The Dynamic thing is cool.
                Fielding inprovements were needed

sounds good, dont care much for repeating alot of stuff from last year but owell.
2K11 shouldnt be too bad, but im not overly excited personally

Would be kinda odd that he progresses but is getting shelled in the sim engine, just because he pitches well IRL.

Unless someone can describe this in more detail.
My thoughts exactly. Having players ratings adjust to real life performances is great but if you are deep in the midst of a Franchise you want player ratings to adjust based on in game performances.

Good to hear that the fielding has been given some attention.

I generally like the feature list but I doubt it is the whole list of upgrades and improvements...Anyway there are some things that need in my opinion to be addressed as well......Like what is the point in having great looking signature animations if they are cut out while batting/pitching duel.......Also players had GENERATED FACES on the field....I mean COME ON it was 2010 at the time not 1999......Night games looked soooo bad like tragic......Fielding was automatic but I think they fixed it......Pitching was too easy you guys are right....I played 6 years in Franshise mode with Red Sox and walked one man on accident.....Dynamic ratings is a good idea.....I am 100% certain that it will be up to us to choose if we want it in our franshise mode.....

I just wanted to chime in and say that "pinpoint" is more along the lines of "precise," not "accurate." Hopefully I can read into that correctly and say that the degree of precision in the contextual right stick pitching is very high.

I'm just hoping there is a way for it to be difficult. There needs to be a pitching variable slider like back in 2K3. There was nothing wrong with that kind of classic pitching, none at all.

                        Re: MLB 2k11 Features List

Kinda funny. If said game has a long feature list full of gimmicks people complain that the developers worked on nothing but gimmicks. But if said game has a feature list with a few new features and just talks about improvements, the developers are "mailing it in" and "don't care". They truly can't win.

So if this game improves it's gameplay substantially and gives a few new features, isn't that a good thing?

As a consumer who pays $60 for this game every year and have it be inferior to the other MLB game every year, I have every right in the world to "pee" on this game. To put a baseball game out that has no FIELDING ERRORS like they did last year is just laughable! It would be like NBA 2K putting out a basketball game with no fouls.
Again dont tell us we cant "pee" on this game when we have been burnt so many times in the past.

Most definitely! I am not looking for 2k to reinvent the wheel but would like a game which reflects the real MLB better then it has.

It will be interesting to see how the dynamic player ratings flesh out in the game. Really going to depend on how severe the momentum swing will be within the modes. If it is subtle it could be nice / interesting and if it is severe it could make things a little disjointed. An important factor I would think is going to be the starting point of where player ratings are when the game ships. From there we would have to see how far those peaks and valleys are from the original starting point.

It is encouraging that they are doing some house keeping to the core elements of the game. That will go a lot further then any new introduction to the game imo.

Regarding the Dynamic player Ratings, I just don't see how it could be a part of franchise and work seamlessly between the two worlds unless as a user you are making sure that the two worlds mirror eachother and follow the same pacing. Otherwise, it would seem like you would just end up with a bunch of things happening that don't make any sense.

It wouldn't make sense to me to be in July or August or September of my franchise and have my players ratings impacted by what he does in real life in April. What if he has changed teams? What if I am in first place and the real team is in last place? What if he gets injured in April and I'm in the middle of the post season? What if he gets demoted from the starting roation due to poor performance, but in my franchise, he's my best pitcher? What if I have a hitter with 25 HR's and in real life he has 5 HR's and then I get stuck with a sudden and awkward drop in his power rating.

The same goes for living rosters in franchise, I just don't see how it could make sense if your season doesn't mimick what is really happening. Even if you happen to be at the same date in the season, what are the odds the standings are the same or even close? What if you are the Angels and in the middle of a pennant race in 2K11, but the real life Angels are in last place and are dumping roster to free up salary space? All of a sudden your roster gets depleted when in turn, you should be adding a key player or two.

I'm not against it for those that want it, I just don't understand how it could work and make any sense for most franchises.
