The lobbies were trash before unless you played a friend or known sim player. The only way to enjoy APF is to play friends and/or join a good sim league. Hex teams are fun to enjoy in a good environment (league with other sim gamers).

    Nothing has changed.

      Agreed.

Play friends or join a league.

Lobbies have been trash in this game since day 1.

Hex editing will make leagues more fun and more realistic.

Lobbies were trash? Weird cause I was able to play great games for like 4 years. Now its 6 golds, edited generics and 99 speed everywhere. As long as you avoided Robslayer, zeus, and a few others most games were great.

But i guess to enjoy the game i gotta join a league now. I don't have time for that.

Hex editing ruined online for non league people. Thanks Again!

Leagues are 1 game (1 hour) per week. God gives you 168 hours per week.

I liked being able to go on at any time and play a couple quick games. Now I gotta find a hex team and join a league, schedule a time with my opponent. I don't wanna use the same team for the entire time either. I liked using a team for a couple games and trying another scheme.

Hex Editing ruined online for me. Maybe not for you but it sure did for me. Im done with APF

Play friends then if you don't want to join a league.

The CAG forums, OS forums, and to a lesser extent, the 2K sports forums have plenty of people who play the game fairly.

Whatever, im not gonna go onto forums to find opponents. Im done with APF, its ruined for me.

I found plenty of great opponents by just popping in the disc before this hex editing spread throughout the game.

I gotta agree with the OP. As a long time APF gamer both in leagues and through lobbies, I feel the hex basically has killed any non-league gameplay. I ran into these issues last night with plenty of edited players, 11 Gold teams, etc. As Pigskin stated, some of us simply don't have time for the commitment to league play and all that entails: creation, hex editing, scrimmaging, freeze testing, validations, etc.

At least before you could role the dice with a guy based on rep, games played, W/L/DC standings, etc but with the hex you simply don't know what you're going to face due to no way of policing the roster files. Sure you can view a team ahead of time, but with editable generics, it makes any lobby game a complete crapshoot.

I won't say the game is completely dead for me, but the days of finding new, random, legit opponents are probably completely gone now.

Exactly. I played a guy who had the 1998 Vikings last night. I thought sweet this will be fun since I was rolling with a classic Bucs team=. His bronze and silvers only had 2 and 1 abilites so I assumed he wasnt hex editing. Then the game started and his generics were ridiculous, his bronze RB was plowing over Gold John Lynch and all his players were lighting fast. I asked him if he hex edited even though I already knew he did cause Cunninghams # was edited from 12 to 7. He said his friend emailed him the team and he didn't know his players were edited beyond normal in game limits.

Then today I get another generic edited team and then a guy with 6 golds.

And not to mention every new customer who goes online is gonna get destroyed, throw the game in there trash and head back to madden.

And to all the guys saying well lobbies were trash before so who cares. The fact that im still playing lobby games since the games release shows im able to find decent opponents and have fun games.

Oh just join a league you say, well sometimes I go weeks without even turning on my 360, so committing to league play doesn't work for me.

The edits are a good thing. People cheesed regardless, and abused game exploites. I think in time the edits will make the game more sim because we can nerf certain cheese attributes (cough route god IMO). It does suck, but you can find people who wont abuse it, its truely better this way I am tired of having DBs who cant cover a simple zone or tight ends running 4.2's into there routes. Thats what I hope comes from these edits, making the most sim football game more sim.

@Pigskin11 give it time, maybe the cheesing will die down, you always have the option to find friends online to play with, it is a viable option

This is what I had hoped too. It wont happen. You will have to join a league or make a list of good opponents and meet them online.

If people have the option to put 99 speed they will. I could deal with "route god" and lousy generics, what I cant stop is all 99 speed and 6 gold players

All hex has done is make the most sim game the most unsim game. APF was a great game even with its flaws, its now unplayable unless you join a league. Thanks

I don't know what the point of this thread is. Are you trying to make us feel bad for opening up a game that really needed it? I too thought it was fine before, even with all its flaws, but now the game can be made to play much more sim. I spend my time playing the computer and not people because I learned a long time ago that people, more often than not, try to exploit every flaw. Find some people out there who are honest gamers or go back to crappy Madden. Most of us are perfectly happy with the new things hex editing has brought to the table. Whine all you want. It's not going to change anything.

Hex editing was bound to happen eventually. Just be happy you had 4 years to enjoy online. I for one, can't wait for the possibilities of a NFL roster.
