Reason #2901 why it is time for me to officially move out the city of Detroit (and state of Michigan).

Dude had a death wish walking into a police station and opening fire. This city just gets crazier and crazier.

Something similar happened in Seattle today too (not of the walking in the station and opening fire part). I just found out about that one while watching 'To Catch A Predator'.

If you're going to rob a place, shouldn't you aim a bit higher than the dollar store?

As madskillz said, it's labeled Suicide by Cop. Usually the person wanting to die only threatens Officers with a gun or some other deadly weapon. This pathetic "person" attempted to take others out to join him in misery. Fortunately he did not succeed.

The Officers were probably in the station and when this guy walks up they say "How are you today what can we do for you?". Then he opens fire.

Majority of Dollar Stores are very easy targets, that is why they are robbed more often then any other store. Dollar stores have very low traffic, half the time I go to one it be empty and never crowded, usually no more then 2 or 3 workers working there at any given time, hell half the time it just be one person up in there. And usually the cashier be some 4'10 woman.

I never seen a woman cashier at a Dollar Store that was over 5'4. Also Dollar Stores tend to have a good amount of cash in the store, since most people actually pay in cash when they go to the Dollar Store because typical you aren't buying a lot of stuff at once at a Dollar Store, usually under $10 worth of stuff at a time.

I retired in 2009 after 32 years as a police officer at age 53. We had a saying, "it only takes one nut". It seems as though lately there have been a lot of "nuts".
I had my share of close calls but certainly nothing like has been in the news as of late.
I am out of it now and couldn't be happier. People sometimes ask me if I miss it. My response"...........not one bit.

One of my friends posted a status on Facebook the other day that was about cops that I was offended by (my dad is a correctional officer). Her's was only obnoxious for one sentence in it pretty much, but one of her friends was just spewing the most hateful crap. It's a shame there are people who don't realize how much worse this earth would be without law enforcement around. For some of the bad that comes from this area of employment, I can think of a lot more good things coming out of it.
