Re: Fight Night Champion Demo Details, Ali, Tyson, Pacquiao and Cotto - 3 Rounds
The reason most sports games don't do online for their demos is that it doesn't make sense from a profit perspective. With most demos you can download them and keep them forever so if there was online with that you can say "well my favorite team or fighter is on here so I will just use that." The way they are doing it here makes sense for everyone. People can get the demo and try out the online part and see if there are any exploits and EA can test out their servers and get feedback from players about that part of it a month before the game comes out instead of having to wait until launch day. EA did the same expiring demo with Need For Speed Hot Pursuit that let players use the online part of the game for a couple weeks before the demo was shutdown permanently before the full retail release. I know some won't like the fact of only being able to play it for 2 weeks but at least you get a demo in the first place because nothing says they ever have to make one.
UPDATE: The Facebook page has been updated and the details are official. Also they say the online part will be available for the first 2 weeks the demo is available. To me that means the demo will be offline forever like in the past demos and that the online part will expire on February 15.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. This year I might have a chance to crack the top 100. I gave up lasy year because of all the spinning, hyper punching and cheese that went on AFTER the last patch.Comment

With that said; I'm a beast at boxing games and everyone should fear me.
I'll probably be on 360 cuz that's where the best competition is at, but I haven't ruled out PS3.Last edited by Vast; 01-25-2011, 09:26 PM."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

Re: Fight Night Champion Demo Details, Ali, Tyson, Pacquiao and Cotto - 3 Rounds
The sad thing about online boxing matches is the lack of diversity in opponents and the absolute need to win at all cost. In Round 4 (I actually liked Round 3 better for online), I mostly fought as middleweight using Pavlik or Monzon and faced Hagler or Ray Robinson 95% of the time. There is a type of greed to wanting the best fighters ALL the time!
Hopefully the new stamina system and defense among other things will make for more strategy rather then button mashing with the inexhaustible and powerful Sugar Ray Robinson.
I don't even want to talk about the other created mode fights, facing guys on stilts with mile long reaches.Comment

I would LOVE to use the gamut of boxers, but if I'm running up against these dudes that use the highest rated/heaviest weight boxers sometimes I have no choice but to match them ya know. That weight is what seems to make the biggest difference online.
Every now and then, I'll still use a boxer with 15-20 points less weight just cause I feel like humiliating someone lol. You have to be extremely careful doing that though. Its very easy to get knocked out if you're waay lighter than the other guy, especially if they're spamming punches.
For example, I cant remember the last time I've been able to use Augustus, or Malignaggi fair and square ya know. Thats skill in my opinion, when you can use ANY boxer and win, not just the highest rated. I'll wash you with ANYONE lol.
I was amazed the other day, I actually caught myself a lightweight match! Thats damn near unheard of, everyone wants to do heavyweight and use Ali or some corny **** like that.Comment

Why does the UK get exclusive access to the demo????
Why do they keep hating on their US boxing fans."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

It doesn't take a lot of matches , just beating higher ranked opponents. I made the top 1000 last year in ten fights a week after the release.Comment
