      Ugh

Hey guys for some reason my CHoops game has been freezing up on me the past few times I have tried to play it so I might have to get another copy of CHoops at Gamestop when I get a chance. Right now I'm snowed in so I am stuck at home. Anyways, I was wondering if you guys would be interested if I got NBA 2K8 and uploaded the draft classes from this legacy every year. I would probably just make the season 29 games and play with the Wizards. Not sure if I'd play every game since I am not a huge NBA fan but oh well haha the game is like 5 bucks. Another thing is would you guys be interested in making prospects for next seasons? I would just ask for certain info during preseason next year and just create the prospects. Love to here y'alls comments and I hope to get back into playing CHoops again real soon haha.

Good news. I cleaned the CHoops disk last night and it hasn't frozen at all since I will post the Gonzaga results in just a minute and play the Oregon State game

Could Ryan Sypkens' shooting lift UC Davis over Gonzaga?

The UC Davis Aggies just came off of a big upset against the Stanford Cardinal and now look to do the same to the Bulldogs of Gonzaga. The Aggies started off strong but as the game went off Gonzaga came back from down as much as 14 and with 30 seconds left Mark Payne got in the paint and made game winning lay-up to lift UC Davis over Gonzaga 74-73. "I am really proud of my guys today. They showed a lot of heart and proved that we are just as good as anyone when we play the way we should" said an ecstatic Coach Scott, "If we play like this in conference we shouldn't lose to anyone in the Big West. We might even run the table, who knows."

The UC Davis Aggies improve to 3-4 and will have their home-opener against 4-2 Oregon State Beavers.

NOTES: I am moving up the rebounding sliders for the computer (was at 50 now 75 for both offensive and defensive) and I will just work from there. Rebounding stats are just too different so hopefully this will help make things more even.
Also, Kurtz got into foul trouble in the first half and was handicapped in minutes.

Could UC Davis win their home-opener against Oregon State?

UC Davis faced off against Oregon St. in their first home game of the season. There were not many seats filled unfortunately as only 1,778 of the nearly 8,000 seats. "I was a little dissapointed at how many empty seats there were but the fans that did show up saw a helluva game." said Scott. He was right about how good the game was for the first 35 minutes. The game was always close and Oregon State only had a 5 point lead at halftime. The second half was more of the same until the last few minutes where they pulled away as much as about 15. Oregon State would win the game 92-82.

The In-Season Recruiting ends, and UC Davis loses another Point Guard to someone else.

With the end of the In-Season Recruiting Period come and gone, UC Davis does not sign with anyone but they lose not just one point guard during the signing period but two. They lost JUCO recruit Randolph Thompson to conference foe Cal Poly earlier in the week. UC Davis took that scholarship and offered it to Pat Krogh who turned around and signed with San Francisco. With all of that UC Davis' head coach Lathen Scott had homework to do. Who could he find at point guard to fit his system? To answer that he did not have to look too far. He found that in Seattle, Washington there was a 5'11 point guard by the name of Terry Holcomb who seemed interested in UCD. Scott went up to talk to him and watched some film from some of his games and found him to be a good match. To most teams he might not seem all that great, not too fast, short, but he can handle the ball well and is a smart player. Don't let the 2* rating fool you, he is a strong player and will get good minutes behind Eddie Miller (who will most likely start at point guard next year) and be very effective.

Here is a list of the recruits who Lathen Scott offered a scholarship to:

Akin Leonard: C 6'11 240 lbs. HS SR 3* #448 (#39) Interested in: Hawaii (no scholarship offered), UCD
Don Montague: SG 6'0 171 lbs. JC SO 3* Interested in: UCD
Gerard Page: C 6'10 213 lbs. JC FR 3* Interested in: UCD
Errick Archibald: SF 6'5 204 lbs. JC SO 3* Interested in: UCD
Terry Holcomb: PG 5'11 165 lbs. HS SR 2* #563 (#164) Interested in: UCD, MTST, MONT, PRST (UCD is the only school to offer a scholarship)

Best game of the year for UC Davis?

"We just didn't seem to miss!" said an ecstatic Coach Scott, "We shot over 50% from the field and 45% from 3 and everyone scored. That is a first for this team this year. Everyone just did great but no one did better than Mike [Kurtz]." "I was just beasting it out there. No one on Belmont is as big as me and I just had my way with them especially on the boards." UC Davis jumped out early on the Bruins on never looked back and blew them out 96-64.

CAN FRESHMAN MIKE KURTZ LEAD THE WAY FOR THE AGGIES AGAINST BOISE STATE?

The Aggies traveled up to the Taco Bell Arena to face off against the 6-3 Boise State Broncos. It was a close game throughout. Neither team could seem to pull away or just hit a basket period. The first points came 3 minutes into the game with a 3 by Eddie Miller. UC Davis shot 18 3s (which is relatively low for them) but did hit 7. It was the shots around the basket that they couldn't hit other than Mike Kurtz who was 7-8 from the field. At halftime the two west coast teams were all tied up at 29. The second half was more of the same as the first. UC Davis started hitting some shots but still not at a real high percentage. However, it was enough as UC Davis beat a legitimate Boise State team 65-59.

#1 UCLA PROVED THAT THEY ARE JUST THAT... #1

(I know it's Darren Collison but hey it's a UCLA, UC Davis game :wink

"Well on the bright side we held them to under 100." said Lathen Scott after the game, "We came out strong in the first half and we were within striking distance all the way up to halftime. But after that UCLA just couldn't miss and we just couldn't hit." At halftime UCLA was only up 41-35 against the pesky Aggies. But once the second half started UCLA started playing like the best country in the team scoring 56 points in the second half. After throwing up many desperation 3s in the final 4 minutes of the game UCLA blew out UC Davis, 97-76. "The stats are decieving this game, we shot 30 3s but about 8 of them came late when we were down 20 and trying anything we could to come back." said Coach Scott defending his team against a particularly agitating reporter, "Hey this is one of the best teams in the country and for us to hang with them for about 30 minutes of the game is a huge accomplishment no matter what any of y'all say."

IT'S GOING TO BE A VERRRRRRRRRY LONG BUS RIDE BACK TO LOUISIANA

UC Davis is looking for a big win after getting absolutely blown out against the best team in the country and Southeastern Louisiana is a very vunerable opponent. "We started off strong against them and just never looked back" said Mike Kurtz who grabbed his 4th double double of the season, "We definitely had a size advantage and used that to our advantage." "They suck." said Lathen Scott afterwards, "They are OK at shooting, play terrible D, they are slow, no size, the coach is eh, they are just bad. Why did we schedule them again?" Those are some harsh words especially since they only won 82-69. True, UC Davis had the game wrapped up from tipoff but they definitely stopped playing with about 5 minutes left and let SELA back in it but hey a win is a win.
