Those released players will not likely be in the game

Following is a list of players who have been released and have yet to sign with another team. I dont' think they will be in the game this year although I wished they were in case they should be signed later on. None of them has officially retired yet. The last team they played for is in brackets.

Jonathan Albaladejo (NYY); Garret Anderson (LAD); Rafael Belliard (LAD); Hank Blalock (TB); Bobby Crosby (ARI); Manuel Corpas (COL); Juan Cruz (KC); Brendan Donnelly (PIT); Mark Grudzielanek (CLE); Shawn Hill (TOR); Bob Howry (CHI); J.D. Martin (WAS); Gary Matthews (CIN); Dave Riske (MIL); Scott Schoeneweis (BOS); Tyler Walker (WAS).

There's a FA pool in the game for a reason. Anyone who's not on any team will be in the FA pool.

I think the rule is that if they played in a major league game last year, they can be included. If they did, they will be in the FA pool in the game, if they didn't play in a game last year, they won't be.

There is a good chance all of those players will be on the FA list.

Thanks for the input Knight. At least, if some of them are eventually signed, even in the course of the season, they will be in the game, albeit they will wear those damned FA hats. lol

Hank Blalock was not on the Rangers last year? I had no idea he was on the Ray.

He hasn't been on the Rangers Major League staff for a while. Young was our third baseman last year, but Young's moving to full time DH when Adrian Beltre takes third.

Yeah thank god Free Agents now show up in the FA pool unlike earlier SCEA MLB games were there were no free agents, so if there were a big FA name they would have to be created in a future roster update.

Shawn Hill was signed to a minor league deal with The Marlins a couple of days ago...

and an FYI: January 20th, was SCEA's cutoff date for player's team assignments...

Last year it was the 29th and two years ago it was the 31st. 25 players have either been signed as FA or traded since the 20th. It's going to be standing room only in the Free Agents pool this year!!!

                            Don't worry....with no LEGENDS...there's plenty of room.
