SSX: Deadly Descents Will Be in 3D, 200+ Tracks, Lots of Surprises in Store

A couple of days ago, EA mentioned 3D wasn't important.

Today, it was revealed by CVG, that SSX: Deadly Descents will be in 3D.

"In the latest issue of PSM3 the mag exclusively confirms that the title will offer "200+ real world tracks mapped using NASA topography data" and follows this up by revealing it's in 3D.

EA has said it knows fans are clamouring for this game and "have lots of surprises in store" for them."

I am guessing the 3D is just a novelty.

But 200+ tracks!? This game.. this game..will own our souls.

I wonder if that means every track will be unique, or if some will just be variations of others. In other words, SSX: On Tour might have had "two-hundred tracks" when you consider all of the different events you could do on the entire mountain. Or just like how a racing game could say that one course going either direction would be considered two tracks.

It all sounds cool and I'll certainly buy it day 1, but I don't quite understand how this is an SSX game. Look at Tricky and look at this, I'm not sure they could be more polar opposites. I almost think they stuck the SSX name on it just to sell more copies.

Blzer, yes I would guess its just variations and off trails of similar tracks.

Well this certainly be the first time that's happened.

It is unfortunate though. I've been clinging onto hope for a current-gen SSX game for a long time now. So we finally have it, right? Well, I don't quite think this is what anyone else was really looking for.
