    crques' All Conference Sliders

I've been working on some new sliders for ths game for well over a month and think I have a set that I'm pretty satisfied with for time being, with the help of some suggestions from 500bloc's All American slider set. The only problem is that I haven't had a lot of time to test them since my last changes were made to them the other day. After several games throughout the past few years on all levels, I've decided that All Conference plays the most realistic for me, based on my style of play. If anyone is interested in giving these sliders a try and posting some feedback, I would appreciate it. Just to give you guys an idea of how a few of my games have went with these I'll list a few scores. By the way, this is using 09-10 rosters that I worked on last year:

Rider (me) @ Kansas (cpu).....I lost 96-69. I played them close in the 1st half and a portion of the 2nd but in the final 7 minutes they were able to extend an 8 point lead to the final margin of 27 thanks to some costly turnovers once they amped up their press.

BYU (me) @ Rice (cpu).....I won this one 79-65. Fredette was lights out as he poured in 42 points, including 7-12 for 3 point range.

WVU (me) @ Syacuse (cpu)......Tough game throughout with several lead changes. Ultimately the Orange pulled this one out in OT by a score of 80-75.

Rutgers (cpu) @ WVU (me).......I exploded to a 12-0 lead to open the game and never looked back on my way to a 82-58 victory.

Once again, these are All Conference so if you're used to playing MOP or All American, these probably aren't the sliders for you, although I did try a similar set on All American and they looked like they potentially could work with a few tweaks.

I hope to post them here in the next day or so, but I plan on putting them on 2K Share tonight for those that are interested. Once I've uploaded them, I will post here and let everyone know what they are listed under.

    Re: crques' All Conference Sliders

Thanks! I used yours for a while and then switched to an All-American set I found on here. Not a ton of difference between them, but I base on my sliders on how the A.I. plays against me, i.e., getting the ball to the right players, actually attempting to drive the ball, etc. I feel like sometimes on All-Conference shooting guards/small forwards will take a majority of the shots, no matter if I switch their pressure to "tight" and/or if I make them use a low-post dominated playbook.

Yeah I get what you're saying. That's why I'm wanting to test these sliders more and get some feedback. They might end up working better on All American, but for right now I'm having some decent All Conference games. Sometimes on All American I felt cheated by the computer in games I should have dominated. Maybe it's just me though. I am getting older and games aren't as easy as they once were for me. LOL

Edit - They're up on 2K Share under crques All Conference. Try them on All Conference or All American, whichever you choose and give me some feedback on both. Like I said before, I'm using All Conference at the moment, but I think these might translate well to All American as well, for those looking for more of a challenge. Keep in mind that I'm 34 with 2 small children that don't allow for much rest so my gaming skills and hand-eye coordination when playing these games aren't what they used to be due to sleep deprivation, and far less gaming time than I used to have. In other words, these sliders aren't going to be for everyone.

It's PS3. I might get them up on 360 as well today or tomorrow. I have it for both systems but play the PS3 one more.

Interesting comment - I've always heard XBox 360 has sharper graphics. I used to own one but had to give rid of it after receiving the dreaded "red light" error.

BTW, I will be sure to try your sliders out once I get done with my super secret roster project for 2011-12. I don't want to let the cat out of the bag, but I promise that, barring any major glitches or setbacks, there will indeed be a 2011-12 College Hoops game, wink, wink.

The 360 does have sharper graphics but I prefer the PS3 controls for basketball.

The project sounds good. Can't wait to try them out.

                mk,

I will try to post them on here tonight or tomorrow.

I apologize for those that have been waiting for me to post my sliders on here. I've been busy with work and family and haven't turned on my PS3 or Xbox for about 3 or 4 days. I will have them posted here by Sunday at the latest, but hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

Anyone given these a try or tried them on All American? I haven't played for a while, but hope to this weekend. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions that might make them better? As I stated before, All Conference seemed to be working better for me, but I really haven't gotten in a lot of testing time with this last set. I might eventually give these a try on All American after some more testing and tinkering, but for now I'm sticking with All Conference.

Yes, I tried them and loved them! Only difference is that I play 18-minute halves....like to slow it down and call plays.

The AI plays well with the custom playbooks. Took me a little while to get adjusted to the faster pace - I had been playing the last two years with Game Speed at 75 and Player Speed at 5.

Anyway, great effort! Gave me a renewed interest in this game.

Glad you liked them. I would probably play at least 15 minute halves if I had more time but 13 seems to work ok for me now. I am actually drawing fouls with these sliders and I like the risk/reward balance with the steals. It's possible to get a clean steal occasionally, but reach-in fouls are called as well so naturally it's a gamble. Was your offensive/defensive rebounding pretty realistic? I've noticed in the hand full of games I've played with this set that good offensive rebounding teams usually have anywhere from 10 - 15 per game, while weaker rebounding teams usually have 2 - 7 offensive rebounds per game. Did you try it on All Conference or All American?

I'm starting out on All-Conference - might bump it up to All-American if it gets too easy.

I had a chance to play a game last night and I used Texas Southern and lost to Texas on the road by a score of 82-59. At halftime I was only down 35-32 but they blew me away in the 2nd half. I was actually down 78-50 with 2 minutes left and found a backup SG on my bench that knocked down three 3-pointers to close out the game. I don't mind losing at all, especially games I'm supposed to lose so this game felt good. I was outrebounded something like 45-25 which I liked too. This was on All Conference by the way.
