Besides the greatness I must say when rounding the bases I always touch the inner part of the base with my right food instead of my left.
But maybe that's just me and I'm really nitpicking now

Did they (Twins) or did they not wear the 50 year logo last year? Is there a reason they are wearing it again in 11? wouldnt it be 51 years this season?"I wanna walk down the street and people say," "There goes Roy Hobbs, the best to ever play the game."Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Video: Gameplay Footage From Community Event
I was always taught to round the base by hitting the inside corner with my left foot like the video. If you hit it with your left foot as you cross your right over, you can keep more of your momentum going towards the next base. By hitting it with your right (unless you took a huge turn) your momentum is going more towards the right of the next base and you have to spend more time and energy correcting yourself.

First I've heard that. I was always taught inside right foot as thats more natural and when using LF you are actually technically making it a longer distance. IMO there no way you get better momentum using LF.I was always taught to round the base by hitting the inside corner with my left foot like the video. Re: MLB 11 The Show Video: Gameplay Footage From Community Event
See, I think of it as making it a longer distance with your right foot because your momentum carries you further away from the base you are going to next. If I hit the base with my right foot, my next step with my left foot will be farther to my right than my next step with my right would be if I hit it with my left. (Now you can't tell me that didn't make perfect sense!:wink
My momentum would take longer to correct in the former than the latter.

Using RF automatically makes you closer to next base as your whole body would be left of the base towards next base and you'd have better angle towards next base.See, I think of it as making it a longer distance with your right foot because your momentum carries you further away from the base you are going to next. If you use the LF your body has to be further away from the next base as your body at most would be even with the base you're on.
I'd probably fall down if I used the lf to hit bag... lolJoshua:

Indeed, and hitting it with your left foot is a serious ankle twister waiting to happen! We should find some footage of the pro'sUsing RF automatically makes you closer to next base as your whole body would be left of the base towards next base and you'd have better angle towards next base.

Re: MLB 11 The Show Video: Gameplay Footage From Community Event
From little league to college, I was always taught to hit the inside of the bag with my left foot in order to maintain momentum. You use your left foot, to "push" off the bag and pivot towards the next base.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: MLB 11 The Show Video: Gameplay Footage From Community Event
Actually, you have it backwards.
If you have the rhythmic pattern correctly and go for an inside-the-park home run, fundamentalists will tell you that the left foot hitting first and third base is best for your push and stride, and if you happen to go right foot on second base so be it.
I don't know if the right foot elitists are also the same group of people who choose to run directly at first base before making a random banana peel turn toward the next bag. The instance you have guaranteed yourself first base with an option for second base, you start distancing yourself from the baseline to gain momentum into the next bag. So if I hit a ground ball up the middle, I'll be sprinting right toward the bag to try and beat out a play; if that ball goes through the infielders, I'll widen out for a turn. If I hit a fly ball, I'll instantly widen out from home plate for the best possible momentum. When I hit that bag, it will be with my left foot.Last edited by Blzer; 02-05-2011, 12:24 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
