    Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

In year one of a San Jose State dynasty, game 5, and just pulled my first upset of the season.

After losing to Bama huge 49-6 I played around with playbooks in the next 3 games against two FCS teams and Western Kentucky(I'm SJSU don't judge lol) and finally settled on Florida's.

I have a RS FR QB who is a great runner, terrible passer so he is my option/designed runs QB.

Anyways, I play 4-0 Nevada in week 6 and I get moving early going up 14-0 on a long run by my #1 WR out of Gator Heavy and then a TD pass to the same receiver.

Taua answers back with a 20 yard TD run in the 2nd to make it 14-7 and I rack up two more TD's to go up 28-7 before Taua takes it 55 yards to the house again. At the end of 3 it is 28-14 me.

The fourth sees me score a TD with 3 minutes left only to be answered right back with 1:50 on the clock. However my defense holds after Nevada gets the onside kick and I end up winning 35-21.

Nevada ended 4-15 on 3rd down and 3-7 on fourth with two fumbles lost and an INT while I only had one fumble lost.

Im Temple in my 1st season and I lost week 1 to central michigan 24-17 but now im 9-1 (ranked #19) and in a 3 way tie in the MAC with NIU and Toledo. I beat PSU 14-7 in week 3, and everyone else has been pretty easy to beat but I needed a long TD pass in the last 10 seconds to beat rival Buffalo 28-22! Next game is against 6-3 Ohio, then 5-5 Miami of Ohio, so I should finish 11-1 if all goes well!

I have done well with recruiting too:

The first week of the season I recruited a punter since mine is a senior, he committed right away. Since then I have had some good fortune and right now in week 11, All 18 of the guys on my recruiting board (all 3 stars) have me as #1

My HB Bernard Pierce is 2nd in the nation with 1332 rushing yards, he has nearly lead me to 9-1 so far all by himself. His average run is 6.1 yards!

Hes an 88 OVR and hes a SOPHOMORE! Its gonna sweet when hes around a 95 his senior year...by then I should be really high ranked and he might be in the running for the Heisman!!! I am having fun!

Oh man, when I had a CMU dynasty, Pierce was a badass! He was one of the few players I actually had to plan for in the MAC, and he usually chewed me for 100 yards, or close to it. GL with him...

Damn nice link, I didn't realize he was being hyped like that! Temple was a great team every year I played them and Pierce was the main reason

              Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

I just got bitchslapped all over the field by BYU's Bryan Kariya. Dude was laughing at me, BYU would come out in 3 or 4 WR sets out of the shotgun against my 8 or 9 man fronts because I knew they were gonna run anyway, and he still piled up 288 yards and 3 TDs on just 22 carries.

It drove me crazy! Last year they beat me 30-24 to give me my first loss of the year. Now I'm geared for revenge and instead they do it all over again, this time 35-30. I got so frustrated with not being able to stop him that I starting picking goal line defense and it didn't even slow him down. I seriously contemplated trying FG block just to try anything to control him.

                Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

Well after winning 9 in a row after an opening day loss to Central Michigan, Temple faced NIU in the MAC Championship game. I lost..

                BUT NOT SO FAST

It was an unbelievable game, one of my most exciting games ever. NIU was surprisingly winning most of the game, but I came back in the 4th quarter. I was down 3 and there was 1 minute left, I needed to stop them and use my 3 timeouts or the game was over... and I did! I drove down to midfield with 10 seconds to go and managed to complete an 18 yard pass- and get out of bounds- with 2 seconds to go! My kicker came out (75 Kick power) I didn't think I would make it to be honest. I was so nervous! Then I decided, why don't I pull a michigan state and fake the field goal and try for the game winning touchdown? What a great idea! Well no, I didn't do that, instead I kicked the game tying field goal!!!

So in the first overtime I won the toss and picked to be on defense first. They scored a touchdown, but then I came out and matched that on an incredible play. I was at the 1 yard line and ran up the middle and dove in over the pile but he got rejected and fumbled the ball! Fortunately, one of my offensive lineman fell on it for the game tying touchdown! Next possession, Bernard Pierce fumbled on a run play (Yea he fumbled twice. With a carrying rating of 90) and NIU recovered it, leading to their eventual game winning fieldgoal..

BUT NOT SO FAST something was wrong, it seemed like he missed the field goal. I initially cheered when it landed but then the announcer declares 'Oh my! Off the crossbar and in! I was thinking to myself, wtf!? So after being tortured by having to see the play of the game highlight, I went and looked at the replay. I'm following the kick and then it approaches the crossbar, and just, goes through it!

THATS RIGHT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE FIELDGOAL WENT THROUGH THE CROSSBAR, AND COUNTED AS THE GAME WINNING FIELDGOAL. What an unbelievably stupid ending to one of my most thrilling games...

Feeling completely cheated, I decided to not save my dynasty and let the CPU simulate the game, and accept whatever the result was, win-or-lose.

                I won 31-21!

So then I was #17 and I got invited to the Little Caesers Pizza Bowl against 9-3 Syracuse! They are a much better team then me by ratings. It was an amazing game, back and forth, but I had to punt to Syracuse with the score tied 31-31 with 1 minute to go and they drove down the field and kicked the game winning field goal on the last play of regulation (that did not warp through the crossbar) to win the game 34-31, ending Temples 10 game win streak. Amazingly, I only dropped to #18 (1 spot)

Bernard Pierce had an amazing game, over 200+ rushing yards, 50 receiving and 2 rushing TDs and 1 receiving TD. He broke the Temple single season rushing yards record with 2,023 on the year! The previous record holder was from 1986 and he had 1,866 yards. Pierce finished the season with 2,023 rush yards (highest in the nation by 100+ yards), 17 rush touchdowns (2nd), 3 receiving touchdowns, and an average run of 6.1 (1st) Also my QB M. Gerardi broke the single season passing TD record with 23, surpassing 22 by the 1979 QB. Pierce and my one OLB and DE were All-Americans.

Oregon and Michigan offered me jobs but I decided to sign a 6 year extension with Temple!

                Here are my stats:

                Career Record: 12-2
                Record vs Rivals (Buffalo) 1-0
Record vs Top 25 (Penn State) 1-0
                Bowl Invites: 1
                Conference Titles: 1
                National Titles: 0
                Streak: lost 1

                My coaching goals were:
                -Beat Buffalo
                -Beat PSU
                -Receive Bowl Bid

Previous Team Prestige: ****** Current Team Prestige ******
I can't wait to see which recruits will be interested next season. This year all I got were 3 stars, but hopefully my 12-2 season and #18 ranking will get me a 4 star player! Wish me luck!

Alabama won against OSU 35-27 for the national championship. Kellen Moore won the Heisman.

The top 25 looks like this after all the bowl games:

                #1 Alabama
                #2 TCU
                #3 Boise State

My backup HB (70 OVR) is transferring to Akron, and fortunately
Bernard Pierce is not going to the NFL!!!!!!!!!

                Edit:
Just finished recruiting.. I got a couple more 3 stars, nothing special though. I got the #66 recruiting class with 16 *** 3 ** and 2 * and unfortunately did not get any transfers.

idk, i guess just because most SEC fans are raised to hate the pac 10 lol. also, the reason i was wondering, i've gotten bored with every team ive tried in dynasty other than San Diego State which lasted til 2025 when the didnt renew my contract after i won 4 or 5 national titles. Ive tried Alabama, but using bama wont be realistic until ncaa 12 comes out. i want to use a team that gets good recruits that is also fun to use. so idk

....Why would you quit just because you lost on a FG that on Replay looked bad? When you view an instant replay, alot of graphical stuff (Blocking, Tackles, etc.) look bad. It doesn't mean you should quit.

I'm on year 4 with SDSU, and I'm 3* Prestige and 5-1, with my only loss coming from Air Force 23-22 (I simmed the first 3 quarters and was down 23-0... I can't figure out why. I'm a B-OVR, with B+ Off, B- Def, Air Force is a D ovr, with a D- OFF and a D Def... I don't get why the CPU simmed me losing... I played the 4th Quarter but just couldn't make up the deficit). I dropped to the high teens of the top 25 (16-19, somewhere in that range). Still, it's neen fun!

I i guess this is pretty realistic to what would really happen with Army.

Im bringing back a solid, but inexperienced team this year. Im playing a new QB. My last QB was a starter for 3.5 years. Excellent speed. I also recruited his brother ( had same last name while i was recruiting him and had same skin color and from Ohio, both had deadly speed.) who was a starting WR for 2.5 years. He returned kicks and Punts for me for 4 years though. I have a new RB, QB, 2 new starting WR.

Ironically, the two brothers came into their Freshman year Wearing # 4 and # 6. It was weird. So i named my coach as their same last name and made myself believe that they were his sons.

                            Game Plans
My last 4 years were a mix between option and Spread with focus on the Run first. Alot of QB scrambles and alot of WR sweeps.

This year my QB isnt as mobile so im going for more of a Conservative offense. Emphasis on field Position. Im trying to model my game after Jim Tressel's offense.

Currently 4-1. My loss came @ home against #15 Central Michigan 38-31.

Starting one off after not touching this game in a while.

I created a team : Biloxi Gulf Knights (PS3 team builder) using average Joe's roster template. I replaced ULL Ragin Cajuns in the Sun Belt conference. The opening game against the Georgia Bulldogs, I got smashed 37-0 .

I'm using one of the slider sets on ALL-American and also using Miami's playbook for the time being.
