Contracts in Off-Season

Am I the only one who is wondering about the amount of money players ask for in the off-season?

In my Knicks game, Gallo wants $11.5m in his first year rising to $16 after 5 years despite being a 75OVR

Roy Hibbert wants $104.5m over 6 years despite only being a 80OVR

Shouldn't these players be after contracts more around $7m-$10m instead of huge salaries on the game.

It makes building a team impossible without having to totally rip apart your roster as soon as a decent role player or 6th man goes out of contract.

Is this realistic??

Yes the contracts these guys ask for are major, some of these guys you can maybe tone down their potential 5-10 points but other than that don't know what to do.

Good thing though is that if there are too many asking for astronomical amounts not all of them will get signed and you should be able to get them at the start of the season for maybe the MLE amount.

Sign them for the money they want, then go into edit player and make it a realistic contract by editing their contract. It's what I do when some players like Yao Ming got a 6 year/$160 million contract, or Oden with a 6 year/$90 million contract.

-Manage Roster
-Rosters
-Click on the player whose contract you want to change
-Edit player
-Tab over to get to the Contract screen and you edit it from there.
