Re: EA/NFL Extend NFL Exclusive License by One Year to 2013
What would suck is if the NFLPA decertifies and the CBA is signed into effect and the rare occurance that the NFLPA doesnt recertify.......meaning probably no entire roster of names in football gaming for a long while. Thats what we should really be worried about.Comment

too bad. Hopefully EA can seriously improve all aspects of the game. After seeing what 2k did to the live series, I KNOW they would have the best NFL game ever.Comment

I love great games. If Madden was a great game then I'd be purchasing Madden. It isn't so I don't. EA gets my money when they deserve it.
Bioware is the developer for Dragon Age and Mass Effect. EA is the publisher. I support Bioware, they are doing a fantastic job at innovating and pioneering this genre of gaming.Comment

I express my displeasure in the only way that matters. I don't buy NFL merchandise, I only watch the NFL on free TV, and I don't buy Madden ever. I'm one person but at least I know I'm not supporting this situation. Many will express their displeasure and still make Madden a day one purchase.Comment

I have no doubt that with the current instability within the NFL that those crafty sods at EA got the NFL to agree to a 1 year extension at a reduced price. You can't argue with their business acumen. I just wish that they put as much effort into making a good NFL game.Comment

\_/ my carecup is empty...
I just hope that Tiburon starts delivering - extended license or not. As mentioned by others, Madden is no longer a must-buy game for me now, it competes with other games (not only other sports games, but also other genres) and the likelihood that I'm buying it becomes smaller with every year.Comment

Re: EA/NFL Extend NFL Exclusive License by One Year to 2013
i wonder if the anouncment of this will effect activisions decision to purchase
take 2, Electronic arts prolly saw it as a threat on a bid for a new nfl lic renewal
went out and got another year. they can't aford to purchase take 2 yet stop the takeover so curb the enthusiasm of activision wanting to take over another company in the hopes with the extra capital it would bring for a football game to compete with E.A for the rights to make a NFL game
we all know take 2 biggest problem is spending the advertising dollar on there products they do not know how to market them like E.A does.
as for myself i have not bought madden since they left the P.C market
and won't go back until they do playing online sucks with console playing online with madden 08 pc was a blastComment

Dam, people need to calm down here. There are some of you really over reacting. How do we know that Madden 12 or 13 will be instant fails? How can we guarantee that 2K/Activision would of tried to make an NFL game?
Some of you guys are jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly here. We know very small details about Madden 12 yet the majority of people are bashing it already. We haven't seem anything or heard anything major about the game yet. I know Madden has a reputation of failing but give things a chance.Comment

well we saw a small video clip of it....seems to be the same engine, with the same size player models. It shouldn't be too different from last year's version. That should be enough for some who were not satisfied from last year, to be jumping to conclusions now.....even more so when we have heard the same things from other forum posters before...Dam, people need to calm down here. it usually starts like this
"just wait till there is info"
then this
"just wait till there are screen shots"
then this
"just wait till there is video footage"
then this
"just wait till there is a demo"
"just wait till there is the final game"
"just wait till there is a patch"
you get the idea.Comment

Re: EA/NFL Extend NFL Exclusive License by One Year to 2013
I just think it’s premature to bash a game that’s 6 months from release. We don’t know everything that will be in Madden 12. They could have reworked the entire franchise mode. We know they worked on it at least. You just gotta stay positive. I think if any year will be great then this is the year.well we saw a small video clip of it....seems to be the same engine, with the same size player models.
