    Loosing Streaks

    Hi Hockey Nutz

Im playing with the Rangers in the second year of my 82 Game Franchise. No Games simmed so far. After finisishing the first year with winnig the Cup on Pro, i turned up the difficulty to Allstar. First Games have gone well...win some, loose some. But know im on a 5 Game loosing Streak an it seems that i cant win any Game at all. I try to focus on the Basics and to recvover from that horrible downstream. My Record stands now by
18-12-2. But i love the Game and dont blame me plz for starting on Pro, never played Hockey before. So, have you had any similar experience with such loosing Streaks and how do you have worked it out without dont loosing your confidence or nerves

    Best regards

PS: Sorry if my English sucks, im from Germany

Yeah it happens, but that's what makes it fun isn't it?

I started my season strong but about 12 games in started running into serious injury problems which plagued me for the rest of the season. It took me until the last game of the season just to make the playoffs as the 8th seed - something that only happened because my team got healthy with 2 weeks left in the season.

I don't know, a lot of folks out there have the 82-0 problem when it comes to video games, but personally I love the challenge and will take competitive/tough games and franchises over easy breezy any day.

I play on Pro, and I'm having extremely competitive games in two separate franchises. I'm in the 4th spot in the East with the Flyers halfway through my first season. Right in line with how they're performing in real life (they're actually better). In my other franchise, a created team franchise (4 CAP's and the rest of the Coyotes roster), I'm about 15-20 games in and floating within a game or two above or below .500.

I love the variable results. I may win 3 in a row, then lose 4 straight. It seems every game is different. Just really having a blast with the game.
      NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
      NFL - Buffalo Bills
      MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Absolutely. I don't need to finish first or even with a winning record. It seems alot more fun to me when a game is a challenge. I just wish the teams played more like their real life counterparts and the sim engine was less random.

Yeah, I agree. I just breezed through the first round of the playoffs because the Thrashers had finished in first place somehow. I beat them every game during the regular season, and I swept them in the first round. It's onto the Canadiens now (I'm the Bruins) who should be a better challenge.

Also, I noticed in the west that Calgary finished on top and are ahead in their second round series vs. the somehow 7th place Canucks...

            Seems realistic to me!

On topic: Try shuffling your lines around and changes your strategies. Don't be afraid to change your lines as often as you feel necessary.

This. I think this is the first sports game I've played where I really feel like it could be a toss up on whether it's me or the CPU that wins, just like if I were playing a human opponent. It's not perfect, but better than anything else I've seen so far.

Good Morning Hockey Nutz (9:15 German time)

dont get me wrong, i dont mind loosing at all, not in this game. Its a amazing experience every time i put in in my PS3 and im lovin it. From my last post on, i have recovered from the negative series and managed to win again some Games. Now standing short before the Allstargame with a 24-15-2 record. The Teams who are giving me the hardest challenges are allways the Panthers, Predators and Trashers. In the Opposite i have most of the time no big probs winning against the Pens or Capitals.

Cause im relativley new to the Hockey World i have started the first season on pro, switched after winning the Cup to Allstar and follwing the plan to do the same after winning the next cup. This Season on Allstar, im having the feeling i wont win the Cup as quick as the first attempt. But i dont care, its a beautiful game and im loving the challenge its giving me.
