Re: A NEW NFL --- REPLACEMENT TEAMS
BREAKING NEWS: BULLDOGS PROMOTE HEAD COACH JOE THOMPSON TO VICE-PRESIDENT,HEAD COACH.
Owner Chris Medding: This is something Joe and I have discussed, and he is comfortable with. Originally, we were going to hire a GM and then address our head coaching situation. When Joe showed up on our radar, I jumped on the chance to interview him. I felt if I didn't hire him right away, another team may get in a "tug-of-war" with us. I also commend Joe on the Davenport deal. I knew of Terrence's skills being a VT fan, but Joe had seen him every year while Joe was at GT. Let me tell you, Joe got us a much better deal than I would have. I know we traded a first rounder, but with the impact Terrence will have, we in essence got our 2011 firstrounder a year early. As far as my title, I will remain Owner, CEO. Joe and I will work together and build a team Virginia will take enormous pride in, I promise you that! I'll now turn it over to Joe for his comments.
Joe Thompson: Thank you Chris! This is such an honor to be promoted , and after one game. (Laughs)
Chris: Joe, I'm not so sure how sold I am on this anymore. (laughs)
Joe: but all kidding aside, I feel fortunate for this opportunity. I work very well with Chris, and am fortunate to have an owner and boss who will not only listen and go to bat for you, but has the same vision as you do. We'd be happy to take any questions at this time:
