Hell, haven't I made it abundantly clear that I want New York to be really good?

That said, I don't think its healthy for the NBA as a whole to grow supercities.

I feel you, but is all good.

Donny Walsh was quoted as saying he was done because Dolan and WWW made this happen and jumped the tank when Melo told Dolan on Thursday that he was going to get his money this year and did not want to wait till FA.

People want to throw dirt on the idea of the Nets but he was going to sign that deal at the last second if the Knicks did not make the trade

He was not losing more then 20 million.

That is just the way it is.

All I know is that the Knicks right now have 2 of the top 15 players in the game.

Time to get excited about the team for once

Earl Barron should be signed in the next coming days for depth and size.

So the starting lineup will be something like...

Billups,Cory Brewer,Fields, Melo and Amare....

Yes I see Melo playing the 4 postion. In this system... Especially with the Lack of Power Forwards on the team now.

Yeah I see that as well but i would put the 6'9 brewer at sf and laundry at sg.
Don't forget that renaldo balk man played some pf when he was here in NYC last time. Just Chandler at the pf for some small ball.
It's not a winning solution but it should work against teams without a dominant front court, for the time being.

NBA has never had parity. It used to be three or four championship contenders and 25+ also rans. Now there are more contenders and less 1st/2nd round fodder. Dallas, miami, San Antonio, orlando and Oklahoma city are not supercities, but they are all in the top team discussion.

Chicago and new York are just getting in on it this year. Things aren't really changing. The reality is that the NBA doesn't have enough talent for parity. So you either get a bunch of good teams or half dozen great teams. I prefer the latter, as it leads to better playoffs. No one wants to sleep through a seven game first round series.

No they just have Turiaf. That is why Barron is going to be signed and the Knicks are hoping that the Rockets cut J Jeffries

They're may be some serviceable C's out there that Donnie can get. My gut is Donnie ain't done dealing yet..

You might see that at times but that will not be the starting 5 from what the NY writters are saying

Knicks already played well with a similar lineup using Wilson in melo's spot. Their small ball will be better, not worse. They won't be able to run that squad against teams with highly skilled 7 footers, which only amounts to three teams anyway.
