    Aroldis Chapman's Heat???

Last year the max he could throw was 99-101 on the game, do you think SCEA has adjusted this to reflect his true speed of up to 104?

This has been an issue with Joel Zumaya as well and they never fixed it for him so I wouldn't get my hopes up. That said, like you I really, really hope they adjusted it.

This needs fixing, I always wanted to make a record-breaking power pitcher, but Show never allows it.

or a pitcher injured by a line drive that drills them in the face? I always get a laugh out of that when he just steps up to the next batter like nothing happened.

Chapman's average fastball is ~100mph. So on paper I think the game handles it the best it can. If The Show allowed his fastball to be 104+mph that means in-game his fastball could reach that speed consistently based on how the game handles pitcher's speeds. There would have to be some re-work to the code to only allow those type of speeds a lower percentage of the time, and all other pitches would be more around the average.

It averaged 99.4 mph which I would round off to 99. If his avg. was set to that he wouldn't hit 104 consistently, he'd hit 99-100 consistently and would only hit 104 on high in the zone max effort pitches. My guys that have their avg. set to 91 don't throw 94 on avg. in the game.

You're right but you only validate my point. He would consistently reach 104mph in game on high fastballs, which I think is unrealistic. The game simply doesn't have any feature that allows you to get a little extra OOOMPH on your fastball besides throwing it high in the zone.

It doesn't? I thought moving the stick forward faster gave an added "max effort" burst? That's how they've advertised it. Maybe it gets 102-103 high in the zone without the max effort but 104 only with the max effort and high in the zone.

It would be realistic to allow him to throw 104 if max effort pitches sacrificed more of his control.

You're missing my point. Yes you can throw max effort, and yes it makes it faster but I thought that was implied. If they allowed his pitch to go that fast, whats to stop me from throwing that pitch 10+ times in a row at 104mph, which he has never shown he can do with that sort of frequency.

I have never reached max speed 10 times in a row w/ any pitcher. I don't think it's possible.

Like the guy above me said, I've never seen a pitcher in game hit max effort on 10+ pitches in a row. Besides, fast or not, these are MLB hitters, repeated speed isn't gonna beat them or the AI in this game if you throw in the same spot same speed every pitch. There's a reason pitchers mix their speeds and change the eye level. I've never seen Aroldis throw it high in the zone 10+ times in a row either.
