Re: MLB 2K11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (PS3/360)
Also something that might have to do with the demo being on Pro is I am seeing A LOT of doubles, way more than singles. I know they said there would be more doubles this year but I hope they don't over compensate. That is what I worry about all the time with mlb 2k when they add something or fix something.
Another thing, the infielders throw on the run way too much in this demo. I don't even have to charge the ball but it seems like the fielder leaves his feet a lot when throwing. Also another over compensation is I think they are going to overdo the close plays. I noticed on routine ground balls to short or 3rd result in very close plays with almost ever player even if you get the meter in the green. Maybe this is because they over compensated for the rocket arms and such. But even in the Majors utility infielders will throw out guys by a mile on routine grounders.
I just think there will be a lot of over compensation for doubles, errors, weak arms and the throwing meter, the charging animations even though you don't charge the ball. Thank god for sliders I guess. I don't really like sliders because it feels like I am cheating the game. If they got it right we wouldn't need sliders for things like this. Maybe only for like pitch speed and things like that.
Oh, I stole 3rd base with Sandoval 3 timesComment

This is my first venture into 2kx since 2k8. This is what I have waited for? I am not optimistic.
Thank god for NBA2k11.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (PS3/360)
I took a look at the possible "aggressive CPU batters" issue and put myself in a several 3-0 counts. This (along with all the annoying flashing lights) could be a game killer for me so I wanted to take a close look. Here are the results from one game...
CPU ON 3-0 COUNTS:
Swung: 3 times (all 3 were strikes)
Took: 7 times (4 were balls, 3 were strikes)
Basically if you're around the edge or corner the CPU might take even if it's a strike.
CPU ON 3-1 COUNTS:
Swung: 4 times (all 4 were strikes)
Took: 1 time (strike)
Doesn't look too bad, but here is what I have a problem with...
- Leadoff hitters swinging on 3-0 counts (happened at least twice.)
- At least four times the CPU swung at balls outside the zone on 1-0 or 2-0 counts. If 90% of what I'm throwing is balls why so aggressive? Where's the AI?
- Only once did the CPU appear to take a pitch rather than read & react. On a 3-1 pitch I threw a meatball right down the middle and it watched it.

Re: MLB 2K11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (PS3/360)
The PS3 demo looked horrible. I have 2K10 on PC and playing the PS3 demo was like playing my PC game on medium...at best. There were also some frame rate issues at certain spots.
Outside of the technical stuff, the game is improved. Hitting feels really good thanks to the new camera. The strike zone is no longer gigantic and not every corner pitch is a strike. I wasn't able to enjoy any of the new player models since the graphics were toned down.
Either the demo wasn't near the final build or 2K just gave up on the PS3. I don't blame them though. They're not gonna sell too many units on the system.Comment

I came up with the Garciaparra stance for Huff. Sanchez's windup is Liriano's, which is what I had on my spreadsheet. Hopefully, they are doing new signature moves for next year's release...since they've said they feel like they're done tweaking with the gameplay and can focus on other things now.Last edited by ImBaconBeckham; 03-01-2011, 08:03 PM.Comment

the ps3 version just doesn't feel and look right. 2k probably didn't work as hard on it as they did the 360, where they will sell most of its copies. too bad though, the game seems promising, just feels underdeveloped on the ps3Comment

It's a straight port and whoever ported it did a crappy job.Comment

I have a PS3. Downloaded the demo thought it was good. A lot of the obvious things seemed to be fixed. I was enjoying the game. Thought maybe it will be a two game buy this year. Then came the top of the second. Fly ball to left fielder he camps under it and the game freezes. It totally locks up my PS3 so bad I had to switch off the rear power switch. Unbelievable!!!Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (PS3/360)
the demo is stripped down but its decent, the full version should be much better with all the features, so with that being said i will give 2k11 a try......Comment

The Xbox version definitely looks better and I am not liking the framerate hitch every once in a while on fly balls to the outfield on the PS3. I am enjoying it though but it appears the Xbox version is better. And I have not actually played the Xbox version but am basing it of a demo video that I saw.Comment
