I still don't quite know how I feel about the Knicks/Nuggets trade. The Knicks did get better instantly, but who knows how good Gallo, Chandler, and Felton are going to be. I think getting Billups is very important. He can spread the floor and he will get the ball to Stoudemire and Carmelo better than Felton. I just wish this trade would have happened earlier so we could see this team's full potential before the season is over. I hope they get the chemistry down by playoff time so that they can make a good run and not get eliminated early.

As a Bucks fan, I was upset that nothing was done to improve the roster, but what could be done? Man they suck.

The melo deal was by far the biggest trade. even though the knicks dont have much depth at the momemt they can always pick up a few good players in free agency or draft someone to replace what they lost. But long term, choosing to give up those guys for melo and billups was a very smart move. I'm interested even more in playing with OKC now in 2k11. they are already my favorite team but i always thought that they lacked the presence in the post that would put them over the top. now that they have that i think they are a force to be reckoned with in the west.

Deron Williams was, by far, the biggest trade of this year. There's really no doubt about it. He makes every other person on the roster better, whereas Carmelo, while a superstar, doesn't contribute in all of the ways Deron Williams does.

Williams is going to be the face of that franchise for many years and I honestly do expect Howard to leave the Magic at the end of 2012 for the Nets. Who wouldn't want to go play with Deron Williams? This will only happen if he is willing to give up being the "man" on his team, and I'm not sure if he'd be willing to do that. I think that would be the only thing standing in the way of joining the Nets honestly.

Anyways, I digress. Point is, getting the best point guard in the NBA was a better trade by far.

I think the biggest move was really the combination of the Nets driving up the price for Carmelo and then stealing Deron away from Utah. Mikhail and the rest of the FO did a great job on that one.

the dwill trade wouldve been the best IF he had been able to sign an extension but he cant, and if the nets struggle early next season i could see him asking for a trade... a previous poster said something about the blazers trade for wallace, he said it was stupid.. my question is whether ur talking about 2k or real life.. maybe in the game is was stupid, but aldridge is balling out of his freaking mind the last month or so and come playoff time if roy cant play they will need a perimeter defender who can guard kobe, manu, etc. the only real problem with the trade that i see is that it might stunt batums growth

He won't request a trade nor get one. They have already informed him they will go after top-tier free agents the next two seasons and, barring some animosity towards the Nets for some reason, they will get those top-tier free agents. It's pretty simple really. Best point guard in the league who will score, lead a team, and get you involved as well is the team you want to be on. He's staying with the Nets.
