    2 Questions About Injuries

    1) Anyone ever have a minor leaguer injured? I sim all my minor league games but it seems that no one ever gets injured. This was never an issue in the past. Am I just lucky or has anyone seen the same thing?

    2) Is hitting power tied to injuries? In one of the earlier tuner sets I remember injuring some players from hard hits. (great to hear the crowd boo when that person touched the puck next) Now I can't remember the last time that's happened and I don't know if its from the tuner sets, different hitting power sliders, etc. Any feedback is appreciated.
I just want a hockey and football game where I can spend more time playing my seasons then I spend changing my sliders.

    1) You're just lucky I guess, AHL guys can get hurt. Still, it's not exactly common either, injuries are almost a non-factor in the GM mode.

    2) As far as I can tell you can still injure guys through big hits. I've checked guys into the boards and injured them and had the crowd boo me for it. You can also have guys get hurt in fights, you'll see them clutch their face afterwords or hold their hand in pain, gave a guy a broken jaw once in a fight. Just the other day I actually had my guy get injured during the game from charging after a guy to hit him but completely missed and smacked myself into the boards. The announcers even commented about him injuring himself.

      Re: 2 Questions About Injuries

Don't expect too many injuries in this game. It's designed that way. Why? Well, let's say you were to have 4 players injured at one time. And all those players have one way contracts. Now, because there is no Injured Reserve List, and you can only have 23 players on your NHL team, and you must dress 18 skaters, you would have to risk putting a player through waivers to bring a healthy player up from you AHL affiliate.

So until EA decides to create some sort of IR system to circumvent the salary cap, you're never going to see a slider for injuries, just on and off.
