hahahahaha! Damb that camera work was crap! Get a tripod!
A coach shares all the same highs, lows, victorys and defeats as the players. He just ends up fatter and balder.

As others have said, it was definitely something that was brought up on several occasions last year and was obviously overlooked this year. It obviously doesn't impact the game, but it is an eye-sore - the same if the Yankee's fence was red instead of blue or if one section of the crowd was absent of any fans. It wouldn't impact the game, but it would be a bit annoying, especially when you spend 1/2 of the game looking at it and it takes up a big chunk of screen during that 1/2 of game.

It's kind of like how for two or three years in a row we had the same players with the same wrong hats in their pictures. It kind of just makes the developers seem a bit lazy when something so obvious gets overlooked. Obvious the focus is on game play, but when there are glaring graphical oddities that are present for a majority of the game and "seem" to be rather simple fixes, they should get some attention.

It may not be important to you or I or others who share similar focuses when it comes to playing sports games, but not everyone places the same order of importancies as you or I or those other people. Graphicical accuracy is important to many people and rightfully so, IMO.

Game looks like a MUCH improved piece this year.

Yes, the commentary is FANTASTIC (and from what DIRTYJERZ says since he already has the retail) it's somethin' that REALLY draws me in.

        The stances look great.

I really enjoyed the camera angle (when the ball comes off the bat).

*They've really stepped it up this year.

I agree; videos show many more reaction animations that give the players much more of a personality on the field.

Visual Concepts is on the right path, though by the time they finally get "there" the MLB exclusive license will be gone. Take2 squandered its opportunty by releasing subpar products for years.

What about the incredible horrible running animations. Are we suppose to not be obsessed about that either.
And I guess we're supposed to ignore really bad swing animations as well. When a batter swings and misses, the animation is absolutely horrible. There's no weight to the swing. It's not as bad when you make contact, but it's still not good either.

The commentary is excellent, continuing from last year. Very nice.
I think it goes a long way to make the game seem better than it actually is.
The demo has no commentary and really suffers for it.

I agree, it seems that evey year I get the game and after a couple of weeks I get bored because the broadcast can only last that long before you hear the same lines.

Gameplay is the only thing that keeps me going in any sports game. And this game has many nice things but still afte so many years has the core elements still broken

How may more years are we going to continue to say, they are improving

That's where my frustration lies. Every year they take steps in the right direction, but at a VERY slow pace. By the time they finally get their game at the point where it can truly compete fully with the competition, either the exclusive deal will be up (might be a good thing), or they'll be focusing on the next generation consoles and will have to start from scratch once again.

Which is another thing that frustrates me about this franchise. The developers stated that they remodeled all the swing animations, and yet they look just as choppy and unfinished as ever. Which makes you wonder what the animator's idea of "improved" exactly is? This all seems rather odd, since this is Visual Concepts we're talking about here (the best in the biz when it comes to animations, little things).

I think we may be giving this team a bit too much credit because of their basketball background. Its quite possible that if they have the same people that made the NBA games, maybe they just don't know baseball as well? Maybe they have a completely different team (under the VC umbrella) working on the baseball games, and they're just not as talented as the NBA developers?

what exactly are the "core elements" that are broken? Bad looking jumbotrons and swing animations that lack "weight" hardly seem like core elements of a baseball game (in fact, they seem like the exact opposite).

If the hitting/pitching/fielding are all improved like they are supposed to be, it seems like the core elements will be working quite well, and your gripe lies in other areas, but not the core gameplay

LOL @ these two guys saying the Show commentary sucks.

                          Really? Really?

I think it's pretty darn good and better than 2K series.

One thing I do like about 2K series is the Insiders Edge stuff and the other little stuff at the plate.

I have to disagree - 2K's commentary kills The Show's. 2K has a knack for commentary (see NBA). The Show's play-by-play gets really stale really quick.

I consider baserunning a chore element of any baseball game and swing animation a very important element for a NEXT GEN video game

We are not in the PS1 era anymore and this things should be looking you know SIM like

Throwing a baseball acrosss the diamon has ZERO weight to it.

Like a mod posted earlier, it feels like softball compared to hardball

The game has many nice things that I love, but you cannot turn a blind eye to the major issues that still hack this series.

I know that every year we hear they are getting better at it.

But I see many issues still wrong.

For every game the commentary gets stale quickly. NBA 2k11 the commentary gets stale. Every game you play with a particular team in your Association you hear the same story when a certain guy goes to the foul line. I'm not saying that The Show's commentary is better but if you don't think 2k's commentary won't get stale after a month or two of playing the game then you're crazy. The commentary for every game gets stale. It just gets stale quicker when you're playing the same title each year meaning Madden year after year or The Show year after year because its never all brand new commentary its just an addition to the previous year so youre going to hear comments you heard from previous years.
