Is it too much to ask that a game release WITHOUT the need for a patch on day 1? How frustrating it would be for someone who has no access to the internet.

Given 2k's history with this series and the notoriously long laundy list of bugs, I'll wait until reviews and until the game drops to $20, which is probably the price point it deserves.

I would imagine that it is because they find issues between the time the game is pressed and release date.

Given that in the past it has been weeks and months before the first patch, I think many of us are thrilled to see a patch on release day. It acknowledges that nothing goes out on launch date perfectly, it demonstrates a willingness to immediately work on fixing last minute tweaks, and proves that there is an effort being made to please consumers. In fact, it may have even been done on purpose, but the effect on the average consumer is the same: it looks like they care.

I don't remember the last time I bought a game that didn't update the first time I put it in, including day one purchases. We are just a little more involved with this game, so we know the details. Bugs are just part of the life of a modern gamer.

I'm just glad they seem to take about five to ten seconds to download and install on the 360. It has to get really old on the PS3.

My downloads are just as fast on the PS3 as they are the 360.

I get 1.5 to 2 MBytes a second. I hit both consoles UL cap which are the same.

No sign of the game on Steam yet.

I wonder if it's going to be difficult to get the PC version. Amazon says that they have less than 20 copies left. I'm probably waiting until a price drop on it, but that may not come if there's such a limited supply.

Check out Bestbuy. All the ones in my area have it in stock today for the PC. 30 dollars.

I thought Ronnie was posed to be giving out a patch list on release day. Something tells me that some of the things that should be in the patch aren't there, and he's waiting are long as possible before he releases it.

I see why the patch notes have not been released. They have not fixed the homerun glitch.
