WOW! The people are getting it! I posted a comment talking about this very thing and didn't realize that we are waking up to this simple fact! No COMPETITION, NO GOOD PRODUCT! My 9 year old son realizes this without me even telling him about economics and business, why can't other kids get this. I use kids as an operative because that is EA sports target market. Great post DUDE! -

Re: To EA and Madden Consumers, Madden Is a Success
Madden is selling, even though sales are down, so you can make the argument that Madden is a success to consumers. However, the exclusive license hasn't increased sales, but has increased costs, so I don't know if EA, at this point, considers Madden a success during the exclusive era.Comment

Re: To EA and Madden Consumers, Madden Is a Success
I hope the "YT generation" actually gets to be on the podcast, and while we're on the subject of Madden 12 podcasts, or Madden 12 info in general, when are we going to hear something ? It's been a month or so since the Super bowl information was released. Shouldn't we have got a blog, podcast, article, or something by now ?Comment

Re: To EA and Madden Consumers, Madden Is a Success
Sure, if you and your buddies wanna grab a quick "play now" game, Madden may not be bad in your opinion....To me, Madden is the only football game I'll play... Even when it sucks, Madden is more attractive to play than whatever else is out there.
WHY DO I FEEL LIKE THIS?
Because I don't care about Franchise, Superstar, or any of the features... I only care about getting a game whenever I want to play a game. 24/7, 365 I can get a game of Madden.
As far as I'm concerned Madden will always be a success as long as a game is just a button away.
When the day comes when Madden no longer has the appeal that makes players want to prove their worth at the mere suggestion of the title. OR there isn't enough interest to get a game against someone somewhere in the world within 5 minutes - Madden will have lost it's luster.
Fortunately, people care about who's better in Madden. Where other football games (NFL2K, BB, etc) are about playing the game. Madden is about the socialization of playing the game AGAINST someone.
I've met many people that once Madden is mentioned, will want to test their skills. I have met exactly 0 people playing other football games that creates the same 'challenge' between people. No one cares who's better at 2K, or BB. It has less to do with the NFL license because when the license was available to other games no one cared who was better at those games then either...
Might just be me... But Madden has no substitute - even when it sucks.
Later
But for offline franchise guys like myself, it needs work....Comment

Re: To EA and Madden Consumers, Madden Is a Success
Nope, I really wasn't interested after the underwhelming surprise onside kick feature. I know they're not trying to give away all of the info at once, but come on.
And if they're going to give us tiny bits of info, I hope they do every couple of weeks instead of once a month, but oh well. Unless Madden has some drastic changes, I'm not buying the game anyway, and if I do, I'll buy it used.Comment

Re: To EA and Madden Consumers, Madden Is a Success
This is a healthy discussion and I hope the Madden team reading this takes this as constructive criticism by fans rather than a bash fest.
I think we all see the way they market the game now is for the casual and online crowd. Look at the menu on Madden 11, the Game Modes selection to get to the Franchise mode is 2nd to last on the list! I'm not too sure but I recall reading that most of the money coming in for Madden 11 has been thru the Ultimate team purchases plus Madden store. If that is true, and is making them $$, nothing much is going to change.
Head to Head Online I don't even play because of the bad experience I have with it. I can never find a fair player who never cheeses online. But that's me. I do realize most online gamers have no problem going for it on 4th and 30 instead of punting, I guess that translates into fun for them. And if EA gets feedback that many gamers do that, they won't add a 'fair play' option to the game like they had in the previous generation.
It's March and we all say we're not going to buy the next version coming out in the late summer, but we all know when August rolls around and training camps are in full bloom, we're ALL going to be buying the next Madden game. That's where they've got us. It's like a habitual cyclical addiction that EA has marketed perfectly.Comment

My madden is at game stop and has been for the last 3months. nuff said. We keep buying it hoping just hoping it plays some half *** decent football. I swear when 12 comes out and I see QTRS defense stopping the run I am done with madden.Comment
