PSP The Show 11 Anyone Purchased It?
I am interested in hearing from anyone who purchased the game for the psp this year. How is it? Is it improved or is it just simply a roster update? Can you tell if the rosters will be updated throughout the year unlike last year? ThanksTags: None -
Re: PSP The Show 11 Anyone Purchased It?
I haven't bought the PSP version, but since you're still awaiting a reply, I thought I'd summarize what i've read from others.
There are some minor animation improvements and the menus look better.
There are no analog controls, no realistic scoreboards, no rain and still no umpires.
There is no Infrastructure so no Online games or roster updates through SportsConnect, however I remember reading that SCEA will be putting updates online... -
Re: PSP The Show 11 Anyone Purchased It?
Hey, fellas,
I got the PSP version last night. I'm not the most fluent Show player, but I'll try to give some impressions.
king devin - I believe there is a MOM mode. I didn't check it out, though.
swaldo - I played four innings last night. All Star settings and did not change any sliders. I was the Mets playing the A's at Citi. I started Niese and got clobbered. Oakland got 9 runs on 7 hits in the first. Like I said, I'm not a veteran with this game, but I was mixing my locations and pitches up alot. I settled down for the next three and ended up losing 9-1. I didn't feel the CPU took liberties or anything - I genuinely think it took me an inning to get the classic pitching rhythm working for me. My offense was not great. sometimes I tried working the count, sometimes I went up hacking at everything.
I do have the 09 version and it is really similar from what I can see. The rosters are pretty good and I think there are roster updates online. At this point, I don't see a big difference between this and 09, but like I said, I only played 4 innings. I brought it to work with me and will play at lunchtime. If you have any questions or want me to look for stuff, let me know. Like I said, I'm not the veteran Show guy most of you guys are, so there may be stuff I'm not seeing or even looking for.
Thanks, fellas.

Thx Sarge, I dont mean to belabour the point but I will only buy the game if there is a MOM mode. Yoou said u think its in there. What makes u think that it is in there. Also, what fielding camera angles are avialable? Is it low, medium, high?Hey, fellas,

Re: PSP The Show 11 Anyone Purchased It?
Picked up the game too, only because I'm a Show junkie......
Yes, there is a Manager Mode - it's under Exhibition in Game Modes. When starting a season it gives the option for a Manager Mode View (dugout, catcher, pitcher, press box, center field, backstop).
I haven't played a lot because I've been too busy with the PS3 version but feel free to ask any questions.Owner, Spear Interactive

Does anyone know if the PSP version allows you to play your organization's minor league games during the Franchise mode? It would be great if they could be used in exhibition too.Comment

Unfortunately it doesn't like there are any real coaches in the game either? It's basically a no frills version of the Show.
Don't expect it to be like the PS3 version because it's not. We're talking about a portable game console that was released before the PS3.
The gameplay is really enjoyable, there are less "little things". However, one of them would be the ability to change the design in the grass.Owner, Spear Interactive

Re: PSP The Show 11 Anyone Purchased It?
Thanks everyone for the replys to thread I started. I have a PSP GO. One thing I find hard is seeing the pitching meter. Does anyone else with a GO have the same issue. Also someone indicated that there will be roster updates throughout the year. Is there any confirmation of this? Thanks again.Comment

Re: PSP The Show 11 Anyone Purchased It?
Picked up the game on the day it came out, here are my bulleted impressions:
Pros:
-Better Menu Textures
-Slightly improved commentary
-Amazing roster updates from SCEA and SC here: http://forums.theshownation.com/forumdisplay.php?f=57
-Smarter Trade logic in season mode
-Many rookies who only played a couple games last season, with logical stats (Ex: even though Freddy Freeman only hit .197 last year in like 18 games witht the Braves, he doesn't have very low contact)
-Classic fields (Ex: Old Yankee Stadium & The Metrodome)
-Great soundtrack, with very catchy songs and I good mix of genres
-Much better graphics than 2K11, which has literally 1D graphics
Cons:
-Unplayable on Custom Firmware do to the unstable frame rate (works fine on ofw)
-No picture or stats in the lineups
-No new commentators
-No Minor League teams
-No Umpires
-A lot of fake players in place of prospects
-No real Minor League/ Spring Training stadiums
-No Infrastructure
-Brett Gardner had an 85 speed which I quickly changed to 97
-Road to the show is pointless, because your playing against fake nobodies
All in all, the game is about the same as last years, with the added roster updates, which become pointless if you just plan on doing a season like I do.Last edited by TroinIggs; 03-10-2011, 10:50 PM.Comment
