History of major conference teams stealing automatic bids
What is the history of such teams since it became 64-65 teams? The only one I remember seeing was when Georgia won 2 games on Selection Sunday.

2009, Miss. State won the SEC tournament stealing a bid.
2008, Georgia won the SEC tournament stealing a bid.
2000, Arkansas won the SEC tournament stealing a bid.
Those are the ones I know from the SEC.Twitter

Re: History of major conference teams stealing automatic bids
Washington last year in the Pac-10 too.
The weird thing about Syracuse in 2006 was that they actually got a 5 seed after their insane tournament run. You would've never known that they were even on the bubble, but after beating UConn the next day, they probably clinched their bid.Comment

That BE Tournament run for the Orange prompted one of Jimmy B's best press conference rants of all time.
That was supposed to be Carmelo Anthony's Senior season, with a few weak recruit classes that didn't pan out we had.. GMAC. He carried that damn team!Paul Harris...thats all

Re: History of major conference teams stealing automatic bids
As of this posting, Penn State and Oregon are the possible bid thieves
If Michigan and Penn State win tomorrow, then Penn State can be a bid thief
Oregon tonight and tomorrowComment

Washington last year was iffy. Southern Cal in 09 was more of a bid stealer than Washington last year.Comment
