I remember Ian Cummings talking about this issue in the Madden 10 buildup (it's a problem with Madden as well). If I recall correctly, the problem they have is that every animation they recorded for Madden / NCAA next-gen up through the 08 versions is designed for a large ball size. Starting with M09 the size of the ball was reduced, but the issue presented was that going any further than what they've done would make all the animations look really weird and force them to re-record them all, which wasn't deemed to be worth the effort.

Quote:
"But hey, folks will still drop $60 on visual upgrades and act like they got something new.
BTW, history has shown that some still shot photos that gets you all bubbly inside, should be comming down the pipe soon."[/
This was a quote leading into the 2009 release.
At Bama83, you're beating a dead horse trying to bring understanding in this area.
Others have tried before you, but it's easier to tweak visuals than address the limitations of the Game Engine.
As usual, visit the forums after release and see how many Visual folks are there saying how good the game is.
Folks should stop using the word "Authentic" with this game, it is so far away from that and because visuals does not make it Authentic Football.
You play Football, not look football!!!
It's Authentic because of what happens on the gamefield, not all the fluff that gives it the appearance.
Without gameplay, what do really have, a Tailgate!!!
Special Teams is the most important part of College Football, yet it is the most canned/scipted aspect of this game, which ultimately eliminates any gamer's impact/influence.
We got the same still photos in '09 and '10, but popped the game in and seen none of those things.
Had to get patch for the uni's to get dirty, eventhough the still shots before release showed dirty uni's.
I'll be impressed when this area is Redone, because after all, Special Teams is Authentic Football.
Nice still visual though.
Unfortanetly, the game is not played at such a close level.

I don't really play NCAA, but I am equally happy they finally have dreads in this game. It was a glaring omission and I'm glad it was addressed.
People have all sorts of (somewhat) justified issues with this game & Madden. For me, the presentation will tell the story. I can get by with the gameplay, but I need great presentation to complete the package.Comment

Screenshot looks AMAZING. Hopefully the animations will catch up with the graphics this year."Attempted murder? Now, honestly, what is that? Do they give a Nobel Prize for attempted chemistry?"

The screen looks very slick and I'm glad people are getting the dreads and equipment they've been wanting, but the picture's insinuation at improved foot-planting, momentum, and/or Real-Time Physics is what has me really excited. If EA can pull those things off, we might finally have a game that looks great AND plays great.Comment

Hot damn! That picture looks amazing!
It looks very lifelike. Lamar Miller looks like he is breaking Bostic's ankles (sad).
Can't wait to see this sucker in motion.
Dreads!! LOL."Hard work beats talent, when talent isn't working hard.”Comment

Screenshots of the game are always amazing. If recruting is overhauled big time, this game wont be worth the disc its burned on. College football is all about recruiting, and this game did a very poor job last year, too many power schools signing to many JUCOS, too many 50s overall, and too many players at one position. South Carolina signed Clowney the #1 player this year in real life. It would never happen in the game. Only like 7 or 8 schools get top 100 players in the game. Boise State recruits way to high, they never land 5 stars in real life. NEVER. Smaller and mid level schools can never come up. Every school stays the same overall apart from each other and just get a little worse over time bc of bad progression. Arizona could never have a single 90+ overall on their roster in the future years in dynasty, for example. Bad progression models and the inability to ever recruit a 4 or 5 star player.PSN: buckeye02Comment

Someone noticed this on another site, but is that a helmet on the ground on the right side of the screen (next to the guy's foot)? It doesn't really look like it's a player on the ground. It looks more like the Florida guy is blocking someone off screen and got his helmet knocked off.
EDIT: After looking at it closer, I'm pretty sure it's someone's shoe.Comment
