They are not going to tell you everything you want to know right now. They have to slowly reveal new stuff saving the best for later to keep people talking. Think of it from a business point of view and not a gamer point of view for a minute. If they tell you everything right now things will get quiet by the time the game comes out. Word of mouth is great for sales.

Lighting is no joke. Not only is a pain to model and pull off well, but it also has more influence over how you perceive an environment (whether it's in a game, on stage, in a movie, or in real life) than any other "theatrical" element.

That said, the game's a few months away. Lighting is just the first snipped of info. My guess is they'll do a blog around once every two weeks and increase the rate closer to release.

Lighting is the difference between live action and cartoons. There is nothing more important to the environment and colors than lighting. I was in practice mode in NCAA 12 yesterday, in the indoor practice field, and while watching a replay I saw my QB drop into the light beam that comes through the windows near the rafters and was mesmerized and how realistic it looked. You could almost feel the warmth the light produced. Quite awesome.
There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.

The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.

The only difference between reality and fiction is that fiction needs to be credible.

fellas, i didnt mean lighting was a joke. i meant the 1st blog about lighting was a joke. the 1st blog couldve been something a little better then lighting, like gameplay or something. adam, please give us a clue when we can possiblly see a 2nd blog. maybe a predeteermined schedule like madden has 4 their blog dates, THANKS!

I kind of like having to log on to OS everyday and look for a new blog. It shows that they have something big for us possibly

The blogs keep me content. July just feels too far away.

If there isnt a blog today, most likely it will be next week.
NCAA blog schedule is probably similar to Madden Blog schedule besides the month prior, We should get the big stuff by by the draft. But we should get smaller stuff before that. I would not be disappointed if we get something small or graphical for the next blog, as long as is it not on the lines of something small like windsocks like we got before
It seems like EA is not scheduling blogs every week anymore

Yeah, the next one will probably not be gameplay related. I'm hoping they show us how they've improved the college gameday atmosphere. Better mascots, chants, celebrations, crowd features, emotions, entrances, bands, pregame shows, halftime, wrapup, etc. I want to feel all the excitement and tensions of college football in this game.

I will be okay with a Presentation blog. Not every thing new, but atmosphere, and the things you said. I dont think they will release any commentary yet. Beceause they are still working on it. I just saw a few pics on Erin Andrews Twitter showing she was recording

Sounds very promising -- and glad to see EA has my back

That's why I thought the lighting blog kind of started things off with a bang. After all, the still teaser images that showed older animations confused people for a long time (in thinking it was a new animation). Why? in part, because of the lighting of the scene.

I hope some new animations make it in, but lighting is huge.

agreed.....just make sure both teams (madden & ncaa) have the sun in the proper position in the sky this year..IE..Bills & Pats stadiums, the sun is in wrong location.
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

Couldnt care less. Lets actually have a cool dynasty of the level of NBA 2k11. Lets actually have a computer ai who plays good offense and can actually run the option. Lets actually make the option work on anything other than easy mode.
