What are you using? (Swing, Pitching, Difficulty)

I am curious to see what everyone else is using. Last year I played on HoF mode with the buttons.

So far with 11 I am using Stick Pitch and Hit on All Star mode. However, I am finding there is no way I can intentionally swing inside or outside when the pitch is coming in those directions. Without being able to do this I am finding hitting difficult.

Are you using buttons or the swing stick? What mode are you playing on? What are you finding on these settings?

    Thanks for the feedback,
    Nim

    I use:
    Analog Veteran Hitting
    Analog Veteran Pitching
    Analog All-Star Fielding

    Notes:
-I haven't changed sliders. The FB's comes good for me. The CB's goo too. I just learn to wait for my pitch and crush it.

-I love hitting this year and i just moved up to Veteran. Fun and I crush the ball when the pitch is there for me.

-Pitching wise, I hang my Cb's sometimes and it gets killed just like real life. I might move it up to All-Star soon

-Fielding is the best part for me. I'm probably going to move it up to HoF and see how it goes from there. I usually either don't make errors or only one per game which I hear is good.

-This is my first year that I moved off of Rookie on anything, so I'm happy with the results I'm getting and love the game.

        Timing Hitting (Veteran)
        Meter Pitching (All-Star)
        Button Fielding

Analog controls in video games never really did it for me (except in NBA 2K because it feels so much more elegant) so I like to stick with what I've always used in The Show. Getting great results so far with the settings I'm using, coupled with Marino's sliders.

Like you last year I was on HOF for hitting and between HOF and Legend for pitching.

          My current settings are:
          Analog Pitching: HOF
          Analog Hitting: All-Star
          Analog Fielding: All-Star

I seem to be right in the middle of the pack in all statistical categories which is legit since i'm the Blue Jays.

Like you, I find it near impossible to swing inside or outside after judging whether it's inside or out, then timing it.

I'm hoping after repetition, my brain will learn that if i pull that way there is better contact. That's how i got better at hitting in general, I just instinctively started to swing at pitches that could get solid contact, and I learned that subconsciously.

EDIT: I also did not touch the sliders this year. They all seem great. One that may need a tweak is the player fatigue. They seem to need too many games off.

I think the default slider tunes are awesome too.

Analog for all. Havnt touched a slider.

Hitting : Veteran. Good numbers and fun except too difficult to read pitches and draw walks. Catcher cam 4 BTW. Also, I dont bother trying to swing inside or out and hit fine that way.

Pitching : All star. Perfect sim for me. For the first time in any bball game Im walking 2-4 batters a game!

Fielding: All star. Also perfect and fun. I actually have to think about how im going to throw the ball.

If I could just get a better read on pitches this game would be perfect.

I'm playing on Legend with Analog pitching and Zone hitting. I'm using button fielding.

I would use Analog hitting if I could use the left stick for the PCI location and just swing with the right stick. With the much improved CPU batting AI, Legend pitching really isn't that tough and I'm really loving Analog pitching.

I use Catcher 4 and like it, but I recently created a Custom Camera based off Wide Offset that I really like, especially when I use Analog hitting. It's kind of a 2K11 hybrid.

Drop pitch speed 1-2 clicks and that should help your timing.

Glad to hear you are hitting well w/o moving the stick to the left or right. I'm trying to do the same thing.

I use Analog pitching ----all star
                    hitting ----all star
                    fielding ----all star

I like the analog pitching and hitting!!

however I found the fielding is easy for me

                    I'll try to high level.

So far !! I satisfied at these changes!!

Here's what I'm using right now:

Analog Pitching: HOF - just bumped this up from All-Star, as I had a 3.28 ERA for my O's
Analog Hitting: Rookie - may move up to Veteran this weekend, batting .309 with O's as a team.
                      Analog Fielding: All-Star

How was the CPU's pitching on Rookie? Did you draw any walks? Were most of the pitches down the heart of the plate?

The thing I like about Rookie for Analog is that it eliminates you having to move the R-stick to the left or right, depending on where the pitch is.

I'm getting great games on Rookie right now. Like I said my average is a bit high but I'm getting about 3/4 walks a game. I do have the CPU Strike Frequency down to 2 I think. I also have HUM Solid Contacts at 2 which allows for a nice variation of hits.

If my average doesn't drop within the next few games, I may go up to Veteran. I'm at .309 now and I'd like my team average to be around .265. My HR's seem spot on though with me hitting about one a game.

EDIT: forgot to mention that I do have guess pitch on at 1/6 with the strike zone off. I only swing at pitches where I guess the pitch type and location unless I have 2 strikes when I want to protect the plate. I find that guess pitch helps me get the walk numbers I want.
