RTTS - Lousy team offense when I take the mound

Alrighty...So I had this same issue in MLB 10 and I was hoping it had been addressed, but apparently not.

So as a starting pitcher I routinely get no offensive support from my team.

I've got to pitch a damn near perfect game to get the win because my guys can't seem to put more than 2 runs on the board. I've yet to be the starting pitcher and see my team explode for 12 or 13 runs...hell, I'd settle for more than 3 runs right now.

What adds insult to injury is that when I check my team's boxscores inbetween my starts, they routinely rack up the runs and the hits...and then it disappears when I'm on the mound. Frustrating.

If I was being matched up against the other team's ace everytime I took the mound, I could understand it. Or if it was just the odd game where the offense disappeared (after all, it happens in real life).

Anyone else experience this? Could've sworn I read a thread about it with last year's game.

Has anyone ever experienced a high scoring (like 14-10) game in RTTS as a pitcher?

I did not play RTTS last year. I just started a few days ago and am addicted.

I ated a SP and am having the exact same issues you are, very little to no, run support.

Yeah and the depressing thing about it is that (at least in MLB 10) this happened through AA, AAA, and the majors. I thought at first it was just the lousy and inconsistant hitters in the minors and things would improve when I got to the bigs, but nope.

I'm still in AA with MLB 11, so let's hope the hitters will get it going in the higher leagues.

I'd be really curious to hear from more guys who are SP's in RTTS and see if this is happening across the board.

I'm on unfamiliar grounds, but the Superstar mode in 2K does the same thing (I haven't played 2K11, but I heard it does this still). Why would they do this? This is with any position too.

I don't know...unless it's an attempt to artificially make the experience more "engaging" by keeping the games close. I think that's pretty unlikely though.

My guess is there must be some difference in how the engine deals with statistics between 1) a game being watched/played and 2) a game being simmed

When you're team is at bat in RTTS, I wonder if the CPU vs CPU sliders come into play?

I found out last year (not sure if it still works this year) but if you give up one run no more no less in the third or fourth and pitch into the 6th you usually got some runs.

I've had a decent amount of games where my team has put up 5 or 6 runs in the first few innings.
                  Chicago Cubs Franchise - 2019 (1-0)

                  Houston Astros Simming Franchise (52-37)

I am a SS for the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Fran's AA team). I've been hitting the cover off the ball, and as a team we are top-5 in every offensive category. Our pitching staff, though, is on the bottom-10 in every category. It seems like every game ends up 7-6, 8-5, or something like that. We'll score 3 in the top of an inning, and seems like every time they will come back with 2-4 runs in the bottom.
