Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

I have to echo the statements I've seen in this thread around green flag pit stops being a bit off. It seems that when I do go in that I leave the pits in much worse shape than I would have anticipated. I've multiple times gone from 1st to last, and not just last but almost lapped. I'm not sure what is causing this but this might be something the team should look into.

That along with a caution almost every time the computer tries to go into the pit makes green flag pit stops useless.

I just bought NASCAR the game 2011 for the ps3 on my hdtv. The game is not terrible, but not very great either! I don't think it's that great a leap from Nascar 09 by EA. The main issue I see is that there are way too many jagged lines making the graphics real poor. I can barely tell which car is which two car lengths ahead of me! It is not crisp and sharp at all! I am using a powerful hdmi connector and the HDTV displays other games really sharp and well! Does anyone else experience the same issue and if so what can be done?

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

From Pastapadre.com today re: the release version of Nascar The Game 2011- "this is about as close to a retail product being a beta as you will find."

Yeesh, those be fightin' words right there! LOL.

I haven't bought or rented this game yet, but I am planning on making the purchase once the 2nd patch and 2011 DLC are released. I am very encouraged by Eutechnyx's prompt response to the community and motivation to quickly fix their bugs.

That said, I am totally appalled by what I have seen so far in terms of bugs and glitches. It's amazing to me that this many prominent problems made it through testing to the release version of the game, even after the game's release was initially moved back.

So yes, I am impressed that they really seem to be going for it in terms of patches and fixing bugs, but that in NO way gives them a pass for the atrocious release version of the game. Despicable.

My eight year old has played nascar games on ps2. I pop this in, and he watches me race at Daytona (big wreck) I go to pit and that is the first thing that pops out of his mouth. How come they aren't fixing your car? Even he knows this should be in the game just from the old nascar games he's played!

They should fix a few at a time and release several patchs. We could also post the good things so they don't mess with them.

Is anyone else but me experiencing heavy jagged lines in the overall graphics? Also what happened to the picture in picture camera view on the upper right hand of the screen?

I'm glad to see they're so committed to working on it. Once question I have though is whether they will work on or if they can do something about the tire wear indicator. I know other have said how hard it is to see and I'm assuming they have good vision. I don't have good vision and have to practically put my face on the screen to see it and even then, it's still a challenge.

and another example, pay attention to the smoke and debris flying off the cars.

I'm blown away with how good this looked 8 years ago. How are the games not at least as good now? I noticed in these videos the AI actually attempted to avoid wrecks, instead of plowing on ahead into them.

I have PS3 also, and HDTV. Do you have your settings on the PS3 set to 720P? That is the game output for this one, so even if your TV is 1080P, I would set the PS3 at 720P. I only tried the demo on Nascar 09, but this game blows that one away graphics wise.

I think the fans were itching so bad for the game since it was already delayed till after the season started they figured better to give us something than nothing. I'll take it, I'd rather be practicing up now even though there are issues, than not playing at all if they delayed the release again. I just hope the bad publicity they are getting on the forums right now do not kill the overall game sales. I really hope this turns into a successful franchise.

I don't want to get into debating whether Eutechnyx is a stand-up company or not -- the reality is that they got into this to make money and more than 1 game. If they don't fix the bugs and make the game respectable, they have no chance of releasing a game next year. As mentioned before, this seems eerily similar to what happened when F1 2010 was released last Fall by Codemasters. Look at the initial reviews on that -- they were pretty bad -- but apparently things must have gotten fixed because the reviews have been much, much better since. In any event, because of the situation Eutechnyx is in, I assume to the extent they CAN fix things, they will, because their success depends on it. Let's just hope they get fixed way before NASCAR 2012 is ready!

To 'nascarthegame': first, thank you for your reply. However, I do have the settings set to 720p on the ps3! Perhaps it might be the television itself that's the problem? Are your graphics sharp and smooth all the way around for this game?

It's already been said plenty of times that there will be a free download at some point (probably soon) with all the relevant 2011 stuff.

The problem with this, is that this video is off the bullring mod on a revamped-reloaded track. Guys have put years into this title, tracks, AI interaction, and wrecks. The track ini file's have been heavily modded, as well as the tracks and car models being done from scratch(well some tracks form scratch, other just modified what was on the disc) To get the game to look this good and race this well. Non-paid indivduals have busted their ***, and given their free time and talent to make this game what it is today.........

I'm not comparing 2003 to NTG2011, I am just saying, let's not throw so much praise Papi's way.

I still love this game though, and the new Rioux mod comes out in 4 days!!
