Does the ball really fly out of Rogers Centre?

I just played my opening series against the Jays in my Twins franchise and the ball absolutely flew out of that park. Game 1 I lost 14-6 and Bautista had 3 HR's added with Encarnacion(1), Rivera(2), and I think I may have given up one more. I got HR's from Morneau, Kubel, and Casilla(yes Casilla). Game 2 I lost 7-6 in the bottom of the 9th after I had just tied it up. Bautista had 2 HR's this game, Encarnacion had the game winner, and I think I gave up a 4th HR somewhere in there. I had HR's from Young and Cuddyer. Game 3 I won 8-5 and Bautista added yet another and someone else had one. I had 3 HR's from Morneau on his first three at bats of the game.

So in total there were a combined 20 HR's in a 3 game series. Part way through game 2 I lowered the CPU power down a notch which somewhat seemed to help. Also I have always played with the wind at 3 so the wind really was not an issue with any of the HR's. It sure as hell didn't keep Bautista from hitting more HR's. He absolutely crushed me all series. 6 HR's in 3 games is crazy. He almost seems too powerful in this game.

Needless to say I am happy to be leaving that building. It was absolutely brutal. The lighting during day games sucks because it is so dark in there due to how big the stadium is. SCEA did a great job repli***ing that. I feel terrible for whoever uses the Jays. My pitching got just shilacked and lucky me, I get to go to NY next.

Anyway has anyone else noticed a substantial amount of HR's at Rogers Centre? Since most of us are just starting our franchises I doubt anyone has played a substantial amount of games there yet, but just in those three games it was crazy.

In the fist game of my franchise as the Yankees, the wind was blowing out to center at 15 mph. In the first inning alone I hit 4 homeruns, and the Tigers hit 2.

Oh I played a couple exhibition games there and boy I'm scared. Quentin, Konerko, and Dunn absolutely rocked me. I'm gonna see how the next couple series play out, but if I keep allowing HR's and lots of hits I might just have to drop the pitching level to veteran. This year it is absolutely key to hit your spots and intentionally throw balls so guys will chase after them.

You'd be better off dropping the wind like 2 clicks.

There's no shame in that, and it dramatically helps this issue (to me, and in a very good and realistic way).

The Jays are jacking the ball out IRL right now, so yea, maybe they do.

well if you see what the Jays are doing to your twins now, then maybe you'll understand. 10-0 top 6. Not to put the twins down at all. But they hit the most HR in the league last year for a reason. Dwayne Murphy can teach anyone to hit bombs. Just ask Dwayne Wise and Boom Boom Bautista.

I won't lie that was one of the most depressing opening days I have ever seen. I've waited since the last out of the Yankee series last year for opening day to come and that happens. Oh well its just game one and the Twins never play the Jays well. They always have trouble with them, and our pitchers are really bad against power hitting teams because they leave the ball up.

At any rate I guess the Show has the Jays team and stadium down pat. I was watching the game with my roomates and after Bautista hit that HR I said "that is exactly what happened to me in the Show." Then all of the other HR's came and it was like deja vu.

Rogers centre was close to top in terms of home runs/game

Mostly cause of Bautista lol. But I noticed that today too though. I played one game and there was like 4-5 home runs in total and the guys were hitting like crazy.

That's exactly what I was looking for. That shows the game wasn't lying. Ya I just couldn't believe how crazy the ball was flying out of there. It almost seemed like every run that was scored came as result to a HR.

Texas bashed me all series as the Sox. Ball flew out of Arlington as well. I am on rookie level so maybe that has something to do with it? My pitching was awful and i was thrilled to get out of there after getting swept. Hamilton is a beast.

one of the gripes I have with this game is that you can't play with the Rogers Center closed or even have overcast/rain games in Rogers Center since this year, if you play a night game, it don't get dark until the 9th inning.

Does the ball fly out of Coors Field in the game as it does in real life? Because if you think about it the dimensions in Coors field are quite large so if the ball carries the same in all stadiums then Coors might actually be a pitchers park in the game.
