Will Madden 12 have a better highlight show?

Seriously... Have they been working on that to make it more up-to-par along the 2K5 level? With narration and some colorful commentary during the replays about the actual play taking place?

Regarding your question, no-one knows yet. And i don't really care either, there is no way in one year they can improve them to something that I would just be skipping after Week 5, Year 1 of franchise.

1st - You can improve on something greatly in 1 year (ie..NBA 2k11 and ESPN 2k5)

2nd - I think they laid the groundwork to add highlights in the Extra Point in Madden 10 (according to Ian a few years ago).

I truly hope that Madden 12 has a solid franchise mode and includes the Extra Point with around the league highlights and other news stories (injuries, hot streaks, etc)

Yeah but the question remains, could they really do something I wouldn't skip after my first franchise season?

Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, they could completely scrap the Extra Point if they improve on the actual off- an on-the-field gameplay of franchise.

I hear ya. I used to watch Sportscenter on 2k5 every week no matter what. I actually even try and watch the current extra point show. I just want to be interested in Franchise mode and whats going on in the league besides my games. if not it feels like I am playing a bunch of play now games with stat tracking.

I guess I am just hoping for a better and more involve franchise mode and the Extra Point, to me, is one way

Well from the last time I read that Chris and Gus both was in the studio together at the same time doing announcing. So this is a big plus there. But we really want know now how good presentation will get this year until the blog comes out on April 28th along with Custom Books blog. It's a wait and see game at this point. We have about 3 and half weeks before that blog comes up.

why compare it to 2k5? i think it's better to compare to nba 2k11.

but to answer your question, they are scheduled to have a presentation blog or video in the middle of april. so hopefully they have some good additions to announce.

If Madden 12 presentation still doesn't reach NFL2K5 level of presentation or surpass it, IDK... we've been asking for this for over 5 years every year now and its still being ignored. It will be a crime if the presentation is still lacking, there are no excuses anymore for this, Devs please finally step this up.

Didn't Phil or someone say last year that they were, for lack of a better word, "taking a year off" to make a better presentation package for Madden 12?

(I'm doing some MAJOR, LIBERAL PARAPHRASING THERE - apologies if it sounds like a misquote. It's just the general impression I got between all parties.)

Last year during the pre-Madden 11 blogs and whatnot I got the general impression that stuff like Franchise mode and some presentation features were not being touched much for Madden 11 because they were deep into that stuff and that it wouldn't be ready in time for M11's release. And that Madden 12 would have drastic improvements that basically culminated from 2 years of work as opposed to just one.

Was I just reading into and assuming too much on that? Or do they really have improved presentation/franchise on the way for M12?

They should scrap the extra point if it doesnt have highlights.. almost everyone is going to skip it after awhile anyways.. once again, franchise should take a lesson from HC09 and have adam schefter pop up in the corner and announce news while we are at the menu, signing players, etc.
