Does anyone even care about the Season and Playoff game modes?

My Player and Association is good enough, I think they just threw Season and Playoff just for the sake of it, it's just generic and not needed.

Maybe some people don't have the time to complete multiple years in association and want to just play a season or the playoffs

I disagree. I like doing real seedings once the real playoffs start and playing the games as or before/after the happen. Getting the right seeds would be so difficult in association.

Agree, I play just one season with current rosters each and every year. Never have I simulated through games or seasons, I'm not into that and never will. Season mode is my favorite thing about any sports title.

I don't like the Association mode (or whatever it's called) because I just want to play with my team all season long and try to get to the playoffs. Don't really care about trading and management, I just want accurate rosters and to play.

I can't stand anything that's got to do with managing a team. It's a basketball video game, I want to play a season, not looking at menus for an hour.

So to answer the question, I care about the season mode. To me, the Association is worthless. But that's me.

I use Association for current teams and Season Mode for classic teams (as multiple years and a draft would make historic teams a little rough).

Curious question, can the user alter each option before they begin an Association and run that mode like a Season Mode and then just quit after the first year ends? Or are their some management options that just can't be turned off in Association?

Yes you can do this. You might be prompted when a player is injured or for trades once, but you can select an option for no more notifications and let the cpu do all the work.

Options are good, its not taking away from the game to have them in.

playoff mode isn't pointless for me, almost all my friends play 2k11 hardcore so when we get together playoff mode comes to use as a tournament between us. Sometimes for fun but usually for a little bit of money to make winning the tourny that more sweet besides bragging rights.

Season and Playoff have been a regular feature for a long time in nba video games. My player and association are newer modes.

Weve discussed this before and all the modes have something for for everyone.
If joe schmoe wants to create a fake 7'1" point guard the can dunk and shoot threes and average 50 points a game, the option is there.
If a guy wants to trade 10 draft picks to acquire Carmeo for the Clippers to play alongside Blake Griffin, the mode is available.
If someone wants to just play the playoffs with hid buddies, the option is there.

The only mode that i would really rethink in this game is The Street one. Playing one on one, three point, and dunk contest are parts of the sport but that mode needs to be tweaked. Its lacking something.

I played pick up game 1 time & the whole team i was facing had nobody below 6"8'...very corny.Not to mention most people that play online know nothing about basketball so they use there 7 ft. myplayer & constantly do a jump stop under the basket to dunk it down everytime & do nothing else besides that,i'd be bored doing 1 move the whole game. For my Player should I be a really quick, amazing handles, really good dunking point guard, who can also shoot the lights out, or a Power Forward who is really strong, is a matchup nightmare because he has amazing handles, and is an incredible athlete.

i use the playoff mode for when me and my friends get together and pick teams to see who wins the ship

So its not that pointless IMO !!!

I use the season mode and make the roster changes as the season goes along with is fun to me and playoff mode is needed for sure.....nothing like making the real NBA playoffs or doing a draft and playoffs. I play association too but the more options in a game the better.
