I loved Lowe's outing. Picked up right where he left off.

The Phillies don't know just what kind of fight they're in for.
they should be happy with the wildcard, the division title is coming back to the ATL!

Should I start the Nate bench cry, or would someone else like to go?

Who would play in place of Nate though?

Good win today. It's going to be a tough 4 game set upcoming, but at least we don't have to deal with either Grienke or Hart.

I'm excited to see Beachy. He "upset" Minor, let's see what he can do in te bigs.

Hinske can't play CF, and putting him in right and moving Heyward to center would make our bad defense even worse. Schafer had a .506 ops in triple a last year in triple a. Clevlen only hit .254 in triple a last year. If McLouth doesn't work out, I think we need to make a trade.

                  Re: 2011 Atlanta Braves

If McLouth can't get it together early in the season, I would think that Matt Young ends up being the emergency backup plan short term.

Unless Schafer miraculously turns it around in AAA, there would probably have to be a trade at some point. So far, no one on the roster has proven they're capable of even replacement level CF. Well, McLouth has, but it's been a little while since we've seen any kind of consistent production from him.

But given the current state of CF in the organization, I think you have to go with McLouth as long as possible, and hope for the best.

It's too bad we don't have Gregor Blanco anymore. He didn't have any power, but he had proven he was able to handle big league pitching, with good speed, defense, and even decent OBP.

If McLouth continues the trouble, guaranteed Wren gets a CF by the end of May.

Anyway, Beachy was awesome, Kimbrel was incredible......good game, good win.

Hinske would be a bad choice in CF

Schafer is even less proven that McClouth

I don't know much about Cleven

Sigh...I didn't like the Ankiel trade when it happend (I panned it on here at the time) and I like it even less now. We gave up Gregor Blanco, who would be helpful this year, and Tim Collins, who has dominated every level he's pitched at. I don't see why you trade LHP who strike out >13 k/9 at every stop in the minors. Watching him pitch with KC this week made me sick...

Yes, and I was none to happy about it. Gregor will never be a star and is probably better suited to be a bench player. That said, he has shown he can hit .260/.280 (albeit with no power) and an above average glove. Meanwhile we have no one else in our system who is major league ready to play CF.

The Braves could have had Blanco back last week with a simple waiver claim. So it seems like they didn't want him back.

Chipper is 4 hits away from 2,500 and 7 RBIs from 1,500. Eddie Murray is the only switch hitter to ever do that (3,255 and 1,917)
